Mule deer were in full rut in unit 8.

You will be fine. That unit is a gold mine. I hunted it for 5 years and seen tons of deer. My wife killed a 104” deer on post a few years back. If you want, I can help you out. PM me and I’ll give you some more advice. I wouldn’t also recommend buying a lion tag. They are EVERYWHERE!!!

I just came back from Unit 23 and the elk were rutting hard. Seen a nice size bull with at least 15 cows.

My boy has an elk and deer tag. Can’t wait! His first hunt and he got drawn for both
