How do you correctly chronograph your muzzle velocity. The chrono I bought is not real expensive so im not sure how accurate it really is $100. It states to shoot between 5-15 feet away am I good anywhere in between or should I be right at 5ft for the most accurate velocity at the muzzle. 7mm RUM Next I had 2 different loads 91.7 grains of Retumbo with 150 gn scirocco chrono 3350, 3325, 3341, 3325, 3341 85.7 grains of imr 7828 WITH 150 gn scirocco chrono at 3316, 3308, 3341, 3325, 3350, 3341, 3325 The IMR 7828 seemed to be more accurate. If you guys were using this data for a turret what would you do? Are these velocities close enough, and if they are would you take the average, or the high.

Thanks again! Thats why I am working with the different loads, and trying to figure out the most accurate load for my rifle. This is giving me alot of time and oportunity at the range. Once I have everything where I feel comfortable I will spend more time at different distances, and shooting positions. You pretty much answered my question with taking the average. Any other info is appreciated.

I understand what your saying. I don't wear any hearing protection when hunting and didn't when using this rifle. I don't even remember how loud it was. I remember the kill though it was 465 yds dialed in with the turret. Very good shooting rifle. Thanks.

The muzzle brake is surely not necessary, however when at the range, and dialing this rifle in for long range shooting, it was very comfortable to shoot. I guess I don't know why the muzzle brake is an issue. The noise? I use hearing protection wether they have a brake or not. Just curious. I also have a turret from kenton industries for this rifle it is set up for 180 gn scirocco's and fits the leupold 4.5-14x40 I will throw in for an additional $50.00

I would guess 150 rounds or less through it. Accuracy speaks did the brake I assume that the barrel is threaded and then the brake screwed on to that. You could remove it if a person wanted to.

Trying to duplicate the factory load according to remington website 150 grain scirocco with a muzzle velocity of 3325 ft/sec to avoid buying new turrets. Wondering if anyone has any input. Thanks.

I have not chronographed it, probably putting to much faith in their figures. I will try your suggesstions, and play around with it. Thanks for the input
