Random Cleanout. Dies, Barrels, Stocks and other stuff.
Boarman03 replied to STOMP442's topic in Classified Ads
Thanks for being easy to deal with. Look forward to the dies and stock. Too bad I already have the other dies. Funny, my first serious high school girlfriend from 1976 lives there in Stafford. She and her husband are great people, as are most people I know or met that live there. Thanks again. -

Nice package and no sales tax.๐๐ -
I don't research everything, just the things that interest me. And when is research a bad thing? I thought they were very nice so I checked the info. Spent less than 5 minutes. When I saw the exact thing so high, I didn't want him to potentially lose a lot of money. Excuse me! I was having problems with the PM, which was sent only in part, so I finally posted here so he would know. Amazing how much time you guys have to police every ad and comment, more time than it takes to do some quick research. At least my comment was about the ad and an attempt to help, to be positive, not just an effort to hijack the OP and be negative. How about letting the OP decide if he doesn't like it? I've purchased a lot of items on this site, given away things, received some things for youth and Scouts, and tried to honestly help. I've made some mistakes, apologized and moved forward. I've even donated time to help others on the site discretely. What is your purpose and intent?

Found this on eBay. Someone is asking $495 for the deer statue. You may want to do further investigation. May be someone shooting for the moon or may be current value?

Globalordnance.com has Tula 9mm 115 grain fmj steel cases on sale for $154.99/1000 plus tax and flat rate ship of $12.95. .223 55 grain fmj steel case Tula for $209.99/1000 plus tax and flate rate ship of $12.95. Just an FYI for those looking.

My buddy/ my 2001 was done a little earlier than 2015. Still would not hurt to try. It was a known problem and may depend on the mileage. Worth a good fight.
-
My buddy had his done as a recall since it was the first time. Might be worth checking into. I have the truck now and loving it.

Monkey Dust, Derby Pro Lube? Don't know if these will help.
-
Pinewood derby cars for their axles used a very specific fine graphite for top performers, can't remember name, but is available at Hobby Lobby, other hobby stores.

Layke makes good products. I have some of his products including my 204 Ruger build. Great people as well. They are located on the West side of town. Turned out I even went to school with his relative. Small world.

I've been reading quite a bit about the 25-06 and I think it would be a great setup for my 14yr son and my 17yr old, 23yr old, and 25yr old daughters to hunt medium game with. Would like to play with one and find out. Please let me know what you have, how much, and where you are located. Even a good Remington 700 barrel in 25 - 06 could work. I'd try to have Todd at Southern XPress rebarrel a 30-06 for me and maybe put a (probably unnecessary) brake on it.
-
By the way, my 30-06 was a custom build by William Sukalle for himself back in the 50's from an old O3. It has been very accurate for me as the hogs in my freezer will attest to. A friend gave it to me after teasing me for a year of not letting me buy it. He loaned it to me for my first hog hunt back in 2007 and I fell in love with it. It does kick though.

Our only problem is we are skinny small framed (bones). Also, as a young man, I spent two years in Peru and learned what necessities were, and what poor really is. As a result I've been growing up working very hard and being very frugal. Now I'm paying for three kids in college because they can't get loans or scholarships, my 3rd daughter just turned 17 and graduates this week with the second highest grades in her class at Westwood, but ranked 14th because 13 kids tied for the highest grades. She was in the IB program and should also get the IB diploma. She's a high achiever and got that from her mother. So I can't buy every caliber of every rifle made, yet. And being past 60 with back issues, lost trains of thought and occasional ramblings, not to mention the entrained frugal proclivity, it probably won't happen in my lifetime. But sounds fun. If I could only afford a 100yrd underground shooting range in my back yard!

I appreciate all of the comments. KBarter is supported by the information I have been reading and the intended use is medium game on down. For bigger game, like Elk, I've read varying opinions but most favor the long rifle cartridges of 270 Win and up at above 140 grain bullets due to potential distances etc., even though the short rifle rounds of 6.5, 260, 7-08 and up do well with 140 grain bullets and heavier at closer distances. Theoretically a .223/5.56, 224 Valkyrie or other AR variants, or the 22-250, 243 etc could kill an Elk with sufficient shot placement but, morally to reduce potential animal suffering, are greatly discouraged. This is what I am trying to follow by what I've read. So the info on the 25-06 including recoil, availability of ammo and so forth made it appealing for medium game on down for my kids. I might even add a muzzle break to reduce the recoil more. For me a 30-06 works well generally but I'm liking the 7mm mag for greater distance low brush. But there are many choices to play with and I want to play more before I decide for me. Barrett M82A1 50bmg would kill anything but.....nah.

I guess I'd better get the reloading dies as well.
-
You sure did! Nice set of RCBS. Can I blame it on Covid isolation and social depravity? You sold them to me a week before I encountered the 25-06 info. If you'll recall, I said I didn't have that caliber rifle but who knew what the future could bring. Fast forward- that wasn't too far before. Thanks for the reminder.

I think he's in Waddell.

I'll take them if you will ship them. Tried to send PM, message states, " No Worries cannot receive messages". -
I know Southern XPress (Todd South) does excellent work and some of his may have been posted, but he typically doesn't post them himself. I normally won't put myself out on a limb for people's work, but I'll vouch for his. Dang guy is good and meticulous. PM for his number.
-
I believe he is N. East Mesa roughly Red Mt. 202 and McKellips area.
-
If you ever get to Mesa, I'll take them. Waddell is a little far, almost like Tucson.
