Tried camera flash this time. 1873 Remington Rolling Block.

    Name that gun!

Tough light, but Not a Springfield. Remington. Remington Rolling Block was not Springfield. Springfield had the trap door. But you were spot on for the year. Pretty impressive.

They were also made in foreign countries and for foreign countries. This one is made in a foreign caliber. The year is correct.

    Name that gun!

If I may submit this rifle that I purchased from a Tucson pawn shop in 2015 for $132.00 not knowing what it was. One of the earliest years it was made.

No Sir! I'm sure she is right. One can only shoot so many 30-06's at one time and we only have four kids. So really anything more than six is probably too many and I exceed that easily. Plus, 270 Winchester rifles are pretty similar, for all intents and purposes, and I have more than sufficient of those as well. I suggested I might should sell a few and she thought I was correct, but left it to me ultimately. So while she thinks I may have too many, she never complains and leaves it up to me to decide. 35 years of marriage, she very seldom complains, only said no to me getting a pilot's license when I was much younger and pushed too many things to the limit, very few disagreements, always worked as hard or harder than I do, defends me without hesitation, has very few faults, put in place a very successful plan on how to raise our kids, highly educated (Chemical Engineer with a PE, Certified Quality Engineer, Environmental Engineer), and so much more. I am very fortunate. She truly is one of the smartest people I have ever met, and the most forgiving. She only ever made one great mistake in her life so far, and that was marrying me, and she still doesn't recognize her error to this day! You would be lucky to have half of the woman she is. NO Sir! No new wife!

I'll go check storage tomorrow and see what I have and what condition. I know I have some in 30-06. My wife thinks I should scale back a little.

Outdoor Writer - Best Wishes with Medical

Keep up the good fight and don't hesitate to do what's needed and best. The "Golden Years" are really labeled such because we spend all of our gold for one more year. The only thing worst than having another birthday is not having another birthday. We are selfish. We need you. Please do what you can and need to do so we may continue to be selfish. It ain't over till it's over and you don't lose until you give up. Keep fighting our friend, keep fighting! Best wishes and thoughts always. Let us know how we may help.

    anyone see this

Was on the news last night. A moment's mistake nearly cost her her life. Very fortunate her mistake was near so many real people. Still took 26 min. for emergency medical to arrive and the call was placed by the officer an instant after the incident. For some of you on here I'll raise the questions; If she had had a child in the vehicle, would that have been child endangerment or potentially manslaughter? Was her speed excessive? Was she endangering others? Truly my thoughts and prayers are for her return to good health. I'll let the legal representatives gather the facts and pursue any deemed necessary actions. If I feel that is injust, then I'll present my facts to fight any injustice and/or try to change the law. I honestly believe we should always focus on sincere empathy and kindness for all involved and thank whatever greater powers we believe in that it's not us in that situation, just as previous posters have expressed.
  22. "Let he who has no sin cast the first stone". So easy to judge and scapegoat. I, like many of you, have been blessed that my ocasional poor decision did not result in tragedy. What punishment is worst than having to live with the loss of children, and the rift that may exist between relatives for the rest of their mortal lives. The depression, physical and emotional pain. And how easy it is for those removed from the immediate circle to judge, scapegoat, and attack. As a society we have become nasty, judgemental and vindictive. Where does forgiveness, compassion, and sympathy fit in? Have we lost it as individuals, groups, societies, and nations? It is becoming too risky to bear and raise kids. Too risky to get involved donating time with youth, or helping anyone. What purpose does it serve to press charges against the parent(s). Now the rest of us can feel better? Will that change the helplessness felt by everyone associated closely with this tragedy? Does a history of high risk taking exist for the parent(s) involved? Have very many of you watched helplessly as someone died do to another person's momentary lapse in judgement witnessing the entire event as it unfolded? Even just once and it affects you for life! Several times and it still hits as hard every time. One learns to live with what they've witnessed, but it never goes away. Do you honestly believe the driver will ever stop reliving those final moments in those children's lives, or the seconds, minutes, hours, days after? There could never be enough booze, drugs, or punishment that could change those terrible memories. And not just for this lifetime, but for any potential life or eternity hereafter. I pray and feel for all involved. There will be nobody who knows of this event who won't be affected by it. Be careful how you let it define you.

    Small and Large Pistol Primers

I have a friend who closed his business but has a bunch of Small Pistol Primers and much fewer Large Pistol Primers for sale. I'm am only helping him as a close friend. Large or Small Pistol Primers are $70 per Thousand, or $325 per Five Thousand, until sold out. Mostly CCI, some Winchester and others. FTF near Bass Pro. To me these are getting expensive, but he has them if you want them. PM if you are interested. He had a bunch of Small Rifle Primers but a commercial Reloader bought them all along with his powder two days ago. Who knows where prices are going? Certainly not me.
