I'll take them. Good for the youth.

Very nice! Great Seller.

I was going by your profile. It shows that you joined Dec 14, 2021 and shows you as a Newbie with 2 content counts. Not trying to offend you. I am considering the gun. Do you know the approximate number of rounds down the barrel?
-
Location? Scope specs? Nikon 3x12x40 BDC? Nice looking rifle. Anybody know this "Newbie".
-
Sportsman's was $49.99 plus tax.

I can help you. Near Bass Pro.

You mean thank you Brandon?

There are many tons of 7.62x39 and there are lots of other manufacturers of ammo and rifles. The AK and SKS are built to shoot in most any condition unlike the AR's, but normally at a slight cost to accuracy. Their reliability is phenomenal. I regret selling my AK 223 back in the 90's (1990's), and later my Egyptian Maadi. But as with all hysteria, I expect the ammo to get increasingly more expensive. Maybe after the wars the guns and ammo will be readily available again, but probably never as cheaply as the "old" days. Yes, grab it while you can or wait for a decade or two. And then have fun with it.

Worth at least $150? Maybe $300. Apple pro extreme bow press is $379 new.
-
Tula was beginning to arrive in some volume. Companies were advertising that 7.62x39 was about $0.35 a round.

Ammo is going to dry up. If you buy new Russian ammo you ARE supporting Russia. I expect the US will prohibit Russian imports.

Who was the builder/rifle fabricator?

Brand/die type preference? Location?

Well, every hunt is an experience worth remembering. Sorry for you frustrations.
-
Sorry. That's very easy to do. Do you get to go back out?

Tried to scare it to death? Saves the meat, if it works. What Caliber?

Ok, here's a long shot. Write Brandon and explain that you need a very substantial stimulus check to improve your infrastructure and manufacturing ( trying to create (manufacture) kids should count), and explain how COVID, and your minority status (we are all the minority in one way or another), and your handicap (you have an incurable, permanent hunting illness) have affected your manufacturing capabilities. With the forgiveable, non-taxable business stimulus check your manufacturing process could greatly improve (your wife/significant other would be happier and maybe more willing), and you might be able to expand your business (not really advisable to do, but, a second partner does occur at times and may improve production. But, again, not really advisable), and would help.with your minority status and/ or your handicap (would definitely give you a better environment to plan and execute your hunts, or your relationship would improve so much that hunting could occur less and spending time with that special someone could become more important?). I know it's a long shot, but the possibility with Brandon may actually exist. What do you have to lose? Oh, and tell him you, your family, friends, and everyone on CouesWhitetail would definitely vote for him (you can lie about that, they set the example on lying and greed and have no problem with deceit). Best wishes!

Did you get your javalina?

I'm glad Cabela's/Bass Pro didn't buy Sportsman's after all.

Thanks. I had fantastic help. I believe in trying to guarantee your own success. Todd South and I were talking tonight about the Zeiss app and that I need to put the info in to it. We wrote down most of the info on the box of bullets when we dialed in the rifle. He used his app for the Muley, but I need to do it myself. So much to learn. Thanks again for the compliment.

Well, I put in for the Elk Muzzle Hunts. We t got the earlier dates. It will be my first ever Elk Hunt if I get drawn, just like my Mule Deer last year. I know I need to get to know the area a little before I go, but what is a good video on how to call them in? Where can I find out about their habits and preferences, besides water. Won't know the area until the draw, if I get drawn, but I thought I would start learning now. My Muzzle loader will shoot a 45 cal 300 grain bullet at 2424fps past 600 yards, but I don't want to push more than 500. At 321 yards my Mule Deer only made it about 30 yards before it dropped and was finished. The arrowhead NSR bullet left a huge hole for the exit, about a silver dollar in size, so the bullet had plenty of energy. Calling an Elk on, during rut, would be preferred. If you highly successful elk hunters would give this old man some pointers, by pm if you prefer, I would greatly appreciate it. I've got to try and make up for lost time. At over 60, the clock is definitely ticking. Thanks guys. Russ

Bought mine from Todd South, Southern X-Press Custom Rifles. He's actually a dealer. Used them on my Muley hunt. Very Clear, and they range very well, as my Muley found out. That Muley is on my back in my profile picture.

Thanks! All good input. I do understand where you hit them, type of projectile, Ballistic Coefficient for the distance, and the bullet's Kinetic Energy at point of impact are all important factors to a successful humane taking of the animal. According to Colorado's Parks and Wildlife, the minimum Ballistic Energy required to kill an Elk is 1500ft-lbs. while only 1000ft-lbs is required for Whitetail. Since those are minimums, knowing the ballistics of your ammo in your gun at the different ranges, distances, is very important. I understand that. There are many nice calculating programs out there to help. I have the data for my gun out to 600+ yards. That's why I could down the Muley at 321 yards with the wind gusting. Todd South is extremely knowledgeable as well as being a fantastic rifle builder. I now need to learn everything I can about Elk's habits, preferences, and needs for different times of the fall in Arizona. I need to learn how to very effectively call them in, learn what helps to attract them legally, when do they move around, bed down, etc.
