My father and I were drawn for the Dec. 15-31, 2006, Unit 29 rifle Coues hunt after putting in with no prior knowledge of the area, just word that this was an excellent hunt. The plan is to go after Christmas and hunt till the end of the season so I was wondering if anybody has any knowledge of this area and could help us as to what areas of the unit we should focus on, access roads, methods of hunting, etc. I'm 18 and in excellent shape and my father is in great shape as well so lots of walking/hiking will not be an issue. We both have limited experience hunting Coues from Unit 36B and have been unsuccessful in the past seasons. Please help us harvest our first deer from our home state.
