And if you don't hear any gobbling try hitting a crow call. That seems to work really well too.

TJhunt2, I'm in the same boat. My check hasn't cleared yet either. Of course I didn't put in until almost the very end. I dropped mine off the Sunday before the deadline. I keep checking every day.

If they were just walking across the open desert it would be one thing. But they aren't. I'm sure that you have seen the pictures posted on this site. Some of them look like someone went out to the city dump and took a picture. It is that bad. And that doesn't include damages to the property. How much do you think it costs to clean something like that up? In a case like that I feel that the property is the same as your home. You have every right to protect it. And you would be insane to try to protect it without a gun. Everyone is right about how people don't want to get involved unless it personally affects them.

I think out of staters with max points almost have to put in. But the lower points applicants are going to drop off. As far as the javalina leftovers goes, I didn't put in this year either. Not that I didn't have money but I was too busy with work and other things. I am hoping I can pull a couple tags this year though. It has been a couple years for me. Good luck to everyone.

That was a great story and pictures. You have to love the San Carlos for whitetail (and bear). I have been there for a couple different hunts and loved it both times.

Man that buck is awesome. Love the mass.

Is the setup still available. If so I am interested. Thanks

Congrats to your wife on a great buck. That is awesome. And that thing looks like it has a real big body.

I will guess 1967. I wonder how many others used their birth year. -
Nice bull and story. Man I feel for you packing that thing out by yourself. Wow.

Christian, are you going to be out there? I might see if Hector wants to take a road trip and head over there for a while. Maybe we will see you there.

I think the thing I like about hunting javelina is the attitude that you can have. There is no pressure at all. You can blow a stalk and say so what. You blow a stalk hunting a big bull or buck and your sick to your stomach. You can call them in and it is very fast action. Or you can sneak in on them and take them without ever knowing anything is up.

Well I thought I would post a couple pictures of my friends bull that we got this last weekend here in AZ. We glassed one bull that was bigger on opening day but we passed. We glassed this bull at 8:30 in the morning and my buddy shot it at about 2:30 in the afternoon. The bull was bedded down in the bottom of a deep canyon and did not want to move. But everything worked out in the end. When he dropped it off at the taxi, they thought it would go around 335 with about 10" broken off the right side. Still pretty nice. It has awesome color too. It was a fun but muddy hunt. Greg with his bull. Couple other pics. Do you see the bedded bull?

Congrats on an awesome buck.

Congrats on an awesome shot and bull. Man it would have been nice to have horses on my buddies hunt. I was the pack horses.

I really like the blood. I may have to try that. Although I am pretty sure that I won't get away with it.

Cool picture. Did it know you where there?

I thing you guys are close if not right on. This may help out a bit. They were taken at over 1000yds with my Panasonic FZ20 so this is zoomed in as far as I can get. I talked to Greg the other day and he is going to do a european mount with the bull and using the cape for a bull that he shot that scored a little over 350 a couple years ago.

Congrats on two great bucks. I love your brothers. It has everything you could ask for.

Great pictures. Now that is how you are supposed to glass. I can't imagine what it must have been like to clean that thing in the snow and haul it out. Burrrrr.
-
Too bad there were no elk but these are some great pictures. I was out on an elk hunt also and the roads were awful.

I just talked to Chef about 30 min. ago and he was having to go up through Kanab and around through Page to come back to Flagstaff because of the snow at Jacob Lake. So at least they got dumped on.

Great buck. I was up there in 23 helping a friend for the weekend. Saw a couple bucks, one real wall hanger and one spike. Just no real shot opportunities.
