I just recently switched from the BFG's to the Toyo Open Country AT's and have been really impressed. They are much smoother on road and I can't notice a difference off road. A lot better price tag also.

I agree. I just picked up a work truck a few years ago at the insurance auction and it was a theft recovery. It had a switch under the dash that I couldn't figure out for a few days and then it hit me like a ton of bricks. I turned the switch off and walked to the back of the truck and sure enough, it was a kill switch. They could turn off all of the back lights so that when they were off road none of the tail lights worked but on the street everything was nice and legal. Luckily mine is in excellent shape besides a few dents but overall runs great.

Looking forward to meeting some new people this year. Amanda, should I pay you at the banquet or pay here on the site? Let me know what you prefer and I will take care of it. Thanks

So I pulled up to my morning home inspection and get out to start getting everything ready. I look down at the curb and see something moving. When I look closer it is a baby quail. Looks like maybe a day old or so running back and forth trying to get up the curb. So I start looking closer and there are two of them. And about 10 feet away is the mom and dad and about 5 other chicks. They are calling like crazy trying to get the lost 2 back to them so they can get out of there. But they can't get up over the curb. So I rounded up the one chick and scooped it up with a handful of leaves and stuff below it and set it up on the curb and it takes off running and joins the rest of them. Then I try to get the other one. I probably looked like a fool because that little sucker kept running under my truck. By the time I catch that one the others had finally took off. So I had to chase them for about a 100 yds and finally they ran into a bush for cover. I was able to set the baby down and it ran in to join them. Cute little things. Just wait till next year and I will eat them. Here is a picture on the second one.

We just had our father/son camp out a couple weeks ago. We had ours up by the Thompson Draw Bear Flat area. Everyone had a good time. Some of the boys froze but they survived. Workman Creek is another good spot. We had ours there two years in a row. If your coming from Buckeye you may want to find something up off the 17. Both areas I talked about aren't bad for me but I live on the east side. Good luck and I'm sure it will be fun no matter where you have it.

Amanda, count me in for at least one. I am feeling lucky this year. Need a new something. Won't know what it is until that night though.

I made the mistake of eating one of those Chiltepin peppers off the bush one time. Won't be making that mistake again. They looked so cute though and couldn't resist. It was about 20 years ago and I still remember it like it was yesterday. I was actually trying to wash my mouth out with a garden hose. I didn't have anything else to eat or drink. My nose was running like a sieve, eyes watering, I had the hick-ups and my stomach felt like a bomb went off in it. For those of you that like hot food. Los Dos Molinos is right here in Mesa and it is HOT. I like hot food as long as it has good flavor but I think they are almost too hot.

I will have to agree with SunDevel. I was just talking about Surviving the Game the other day.

I just shot the Z7 last week and it is a sweet bow. Being left handed I don't get to shoot a very big selection of bows when I go to the shops. I was able to shoot a couple other bows including the Hoyt CRX32 and the Hoyt Rampage XT. Out of the three bows the Z7 shot the best and the two Hoyt bows were neck and neck right behind. But in the end I could not justify the $260 extra for the Z7 and went with the Rampage XT. I haven't upgraded in about 10 years and was amazed at the advancements in the bows. They are all so quiet, fast and easy to shoot. I can't wait to start shooting all the time now.

Tell us about your elk rifle, and cartridge?
AZbowhntr replied to Stray Horse's topic in Elk Hunting
I shoot a Lazzeroni Patriot (.308 short mag) made by Savage with a Vortex 6.5X20 Viper scope. But this year I am shooting a Hoyt Rampage XT. -
Late archery bull for me. Tough hunt but at least I get to hunt.

I had a stinken pack rat build a nest under my hot tub on my back patio. There were two of them until one day the breaker for the hot tub was tripped. Then there was only one left. There is a reason they call them pack rats. It was amazing what I found under there when I emptied it and flipped it up on its side. In fact I tried to set a trail camera up but didn't get any pictures of it.

Cool video, I saw pictures of the bull but haven't seen the video. Delverne is one of my buddies cousin. I hunted with him and his brother Troy a few years ago. If I ever had a rut tag Troy would be the guy I would want calling for me.

David Sunflower seeds are my favorite. I like the Jumbo ones. I sit at my desk for a few hours a night doing reports and they are what keep me awake. EAT. SPIT. BE HAPPY.

Christian, sure hope you enjoy it up there. It has been good getting to know you. Orlin

Congrats Hector. You are filling not only the freezer but the walls. You've had an excellent few months. And with you probably drawing a bull tag this next year you'll be looking for a new job. Nice mulie, whitetail and Audad.

A Mexico Hunt for the Books!
AZbowhntr replied to cramerhunts's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Mexico
Phil, congrats on a heck of a buck. It sounds like it got exciting there for a bit. -
Awesome write-up Hector. Man that looks like it was a blast. Boy are the wheels turning in the head. Phil looks like he got a little sun there. Congrats again.

That is a heck of a buck. Way to stick with it and closed the deal.

Another great time in Mexico
AZbowhntr replied to peloncillo's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Mexico
That is awesome. I have been wondering how everyone has been doing. I am looking forward to seeing Chef's buck when he gets back in town. Congrats on a beautiful buck. -
I saw the same thing a couple years ago. Knifeboy from here on the site had about five pigs crossing in front of him at about 25 yds and he led the biggest just a bit too much. Dropped it in it's tracks. I think he did a European mount with the arrow still in it if I remember correctly.

Bryce, congrats on an excellent buck. But I was looking forward to a picture of you doing a handstand or something like that after hunting with Moosie.

Sounds exciting. I'm looking forward to the pics when he takes a buck. Good luck. -
Great movie. Haven't seen it in years.

If your in Chandler than you can be in 24b within a half hour. I haven't personally hunted it but have been there helping friends and it is not a long drive at all. So scouting there shouldn't be an issue.
