I think what he is saying it is a tough hunt. I was just up scouting for the upcoming archery hunt and this moisture we just got did not help at all. It will be tough sitting water now. If it could have held off a couple weeks it would have been great. Good luck

Great bucks all around. That will definitely add to the trophy room.

Boots In Need of Some Sole's
AZbowhntr replied to Mikey1312's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
What part of the valley you in? I took a pair of Danners in and had new soles put on. The place did a horrible job and I ended up having to take them to a different shoe shop to fix them. There is a shoe place in the Superstition Springs Mall that does excellent work and are cheap. -
Nice buck, looking forward to the story.

Casey, congrats to you and your brother. Hopefully your brother will get many more and this will be your only one.

Dale, I look forward to sending you a bull later this year. Wood down the road did my bull this last year and it was his last one he will ever do but he speaks very highly of you and your work. And I think that is a lot coming from him.

Excellent job sticking with it. And what is the most amazing is that the antlers were still attached, it wasn't just a gut pile left at the end of the tracks and no one else spooked him out of the country so that you could recover him. Looking forward to pictures.

Great story. That is a heck of a trophy. It is something special to get one of them old boys with a bow. It looks like you are having it mounted. I know I would in a heartbeat.
-
Those are two very nice bulls. Congrats

After reading 17 pages of responses I would say that both hunters fully believe what they say happened and this is all a big misunderstanding. I sure hope that on my archery hunt I have coming up I get a chance at a 20 yard shot.

Sounds like you had an exciting morning when you came back the second time. That is a nice looking bull. Looks very similar to mine from a couple years ago. Congrats

Chef has been in contact with her pretty regularly and may chime in. When I asked the other day how she has been doing he said that it has been tough but she has passed up some 300 class bulls waiting for the rut to kick in a little better. Hopefully she will get it done in the next couple days. She deserves it.

Great videos. It is always nice to see hunts from here in AZ. That bear didn't make it very far at all.

Crismon and Baseline. -
Congrats on a fine archery bull. Looking forward to the story.

I have the same shotgun and love it. Only problem I have ever had is when I get ahead of myself and try to pump another shell in before I shoot. But that is my fault, not the shotguns.
-
Great bull. I like the bulls that rub in the manzinita brush. Gives them a nice dark color with that reddish purple tint. Don't know how to explain it but sure do like them.

Congratulations on a great buck. And the best thing is he is hard horned.

We have wild emu in Arizona? Never heard such a thing. That would be cool to see. Did they escape or something? I will agree with the last post. Glass and you will see way more animals.
-
Congrats on a beautiful buck.

TJ, I agree. I was out dove hunting this morning and thought that it was cloudy and raining on the Superstitions until it got light enough to see what it really was. I didn't know that there was a fire though until just now reading this post.

2011 Dove Season Begins
AZbowhntr replied to Hunterjohnny's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Well I had to work early yesterday morning so I couldn't make the opener but we went out this morning and I am sitting here in my office posting at 7:55 am after shooting my limit. They were flying better when we left than when we showed up. Could have slept in an extra hour with no problem. It sure is nice having friends with private property so we didn't have to worry about anyone peppering us or anything. Good times. -
I have a friend that went up this last Friday night on a scout campout and he said at about 2 in the morning they started up bugling and went for a couple hours until the coyotes started howling. They kept everyone in camp awake. They were up north of Payson somewhere.

That is an awesome job shooting everything with a bow. You have a couple there that I have never seen before. Never heard of the bushpig. Congrats

I know how you must be feeling. Just went through the same thing with my dog that I had for 11 years. Feels like one of the family. Hang in there it does get easier with time.
