At least it is putting the way point where it is supposed to. On my last GPS I got to where I would mark a way point and instantly go back in and set it to go to way point. Some times it would be a 1/4 mile away. Without me taking one step from where I marked it. Talk about frustrating.

Thoughts on the last 2 weeks of spring turkey hunting
AZbowhntr replied to az41mag's topic in Turkeys!
I was just up this last weekend and they were talking in the morning. We were able to locate birds but getting them to come in was another story. Just couldn't make it happen. The wind didn't really affect us much. But the coyotes in the area did. We called in coyotes two consecutive mornings while turkey calling. -
That second picture is great. Awesome bird and story. Congrats to Emmy!

Where are you located. I have them both but not interested in selling. I could lend one or both to you if you can't find any before then. I am east valley.

You have to wonder how old that is.

Well I finally got around to hanging my mount from my buck that I shot a couple years ago in Mexico. I know Ernesto has been after me to post some pics so here are a couple.

Patrick, below is a link to my original post shortly after getting back from the hunt. And yes Hector he does look good on the wall. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/30374-sonora-2012/

Beautiful rifle Phil. I am sure it is going to shoot just as good as it looks. Now all you need is a tag in your pocket so you can use it.

any luck selling your strap on yet?

Well I have had 4 bull tags in the last 10 years or so of putting in. 3 of those are late archery tags. I am 1 for 1 on the rifle tag and 1 for 3 on the archery tags. I am holding out for a good early archery hunt now. So it will probably be a few more years.

Wow, that is the whitest that pigs teeth have ever been. Very cool though. Looks like excellent work. Good luck with the sale of your skulls.

Or you can be like me on my first turkey hunt and take my grandpa's old Browning Automatic with nothing but a bead at the end of a barrel and get there late the night before season opener and sleep in the back of my truck to be woken up at about 5:30am by a turkey gobbling up on the hillside. I actually got up, got dressed and took off chasing and ended up calling that thing in and was back at the truck by 6:15. Talk about beginners luck.

I will have to try and make the one at Sportsman's Warehouse. Is there any kind of sign-up required?

Look here on the site in the store. Several of us have the Promaster tripod that Amanda sells. They are best for the money you will find. But it doesn't come with a head. And they do get expensive for the better ones. I have the Jim White pan head on mine and love the setup.

23 early archery hunts north and south. So basically bonus points.

Nice when a plan comes together. Doesn't seem to happen very often. Congrats

At 4 yds I bet it pile drove into the ground and it didn't get up. I watched a buddy do the same thing a few years ago. He watched the pigs as they were going single file through an opening and he waited for the biggest one and over led it. He said the force took it off it's feet and it didn't move. Congrats on getting close. Did you stalk in on them or call them in?

So I am going to thinning out my rifles a little bit to make room for my new varmint rifle I just bought. I am selling a Winchester M88 .243. This thing is in absolute great shape. There are only a few light marks in the wood. I had a hard time finding a value for the rifle and the only one on gunbroker was for $800 which I think is unrealistic. My daughter was shooting this last year for her hunt and she was getting right at 2" groups at 200 yrds with factory ammo. I am asking $500 obo The best way to get ahold of me is by phone or text at 480-294-56 seven three. The gun sling is not included.

Sorry guys. SPF

Looks like a great season with the exception of the Colorado hunt. That is too bad. Almost seems like they should be able to get cited for waste when they allow access for retrieval.

Paying for a San Carlos Tag
AZbowhntr replied to Seldom Drawn's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Seldom Drawn, I wasn't comparing southern AZ to Mexico. If you read my post correctly I was comparing the rez to Mexico. And I happened to kill the smallest buck out of the group the year before that was just a bit over 108". There was a 114" and also a 118" bucks taken on the same ranch. And the year before a 127" buck was taken off the same ranch. So I don't think that is too bad. Look back in the Mexico forum for mine and Ernesto's posts. Plenty of pictures for proof. I don't have a problem coming home empty handed at this stage of my life if I don't see what I want to shoot. As far as price goes it wasn't near as much as a lot of the hunts down there are. As for southern AZ I put in and get leftover tags every year. But I am not a fan of hunting with about 10 camps within about a 1/4 mile of mine and 10 other guys on the same ridge as me. Do I do it? Yes, because I like being out there for the experience. -

Hunting the rez isn't near as expensive as hunting in Mexico. I hunted Mexico this last year and didn't end up shooting anything. Saw lots of bucks just nothing big enough to shoot. So I could have saved about 2K and hunted the rez. You tell me which is the better deal. And you don't have to worry about a dozen other hunters on every ridge. -
Great bull. And the best part is that it isn't all broke up. That is amazing.

You are a killing machine. Great buck! Do you have a job or do you just go all over the country hunting?
