I own a home inspection business and have a pest control company that does all of my termite inspections for me. They only do full treatments (unless under the initial 5 year warranty) and have great prices. The treatment comes with a one year warranty that can be renewed at the end of the year. They do treatments all over the valley. Let me know if you are interested and I can get you their contact information.

Wanting to replace my Ar trigger
AZbowhntr replied to HuntHarder's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Rock River Arms 2 stage match trigger. Love mine. I don't know a whole lot about AR's as this is the first one I have ever had but 2 different people that shoot way more than me told me to get it. -
I am going up tomorrow morning to help on a Jr hunt so I will be glad to pass along anything that we see. From what I have heard the Cherry Creek Rd gets hammered pretty good. There are few herds around Young but I imagine they get some action also. If all else fails hunt the Young dump. Bet you will find some there.

The greatest elk adventure of all time- hunting with JLG! First elk hunt
AZbowhntr replied to AndrewJ's topic in Elk Hunting
That sounded like an awesome adventure. Great writeup. And congrats on your trophy. -
That is a great idea. I would stick with coues as there are already several mule deer calendars out there like Racks . I think if you sold it in the CWT store you would do great.

They have very good eye sight. Very possible that it saw you first. I was calling a few weeks ago and at one stand I get up into position and have my decoy set up running. Everything about the stand was wrong but I thought since I was there I might as well try it. At the 11 minute mark I see movement below me at less than 25 yds. Of course my AR is resting across my lap since I didn't think anything would come in. He was locked onto my decoy about 25 yds away from me so I think no sweat. Just slowly swing my rifle up and dead dog. Wrong, as soon as I started to move he had me pegged and was heading in the other direction on a dead run. So it doesn't take much to screw it up.

I am from Idaho and never knew what coues deer were when I first moved here. I was hunting javelina down in 33 several years ago and was putting a stalk on some pigs. We were within about 100 yds when a coues buck gets between me and the javelina. Not knowing what a big buck was I was trying to shoe this little buck away. I was actually waving my arms at him at less than 50 yds. Little did I know that it was at least a 80" buck that was just standing there watching me. And I had a deer tag in my pocket. That one sticks out way more than any others but I am sure there are a few.

Saw it last night. Great movie. There whole audience applauded at the end of the movie. I haven't read the book but I knew with Clint Eastwood directing and producing it that it would be closer to actual facts than some liberal Hollywood type.

That buck is a stud.

I don't know if you can get them anymore but I have a Jim White glassing seat. It unzips and has a nice back support that you can adjust.

Every once in a while you will run across someone that has drawn some great tags a few years in a row or with almost no bonus points. I actually know someone here on the site that has drawn 3 late Kaibab rifle hunts in a row. But most of the time when people keep drawing tags and talk about it is because they are putting in for hunts that have really high draw odds. Not very difficult to do.

I have gone to Sitka gear. Really comfortable and easy to get since Sportsmans sells it. It sucks biting the bullet and paying for it though.

Great memories.

Here is the tripod that I use. I bought it right here in the CWT store. Awesome tripod for the money. http://store.coueswhitetail.com/promaster-xc325c-tripod/

Try nude horse riding or even worse nude bicycling. You see all kinds of stuff in the Catalina's. It is like a bad accident that you can't help but look at.

How much do you want to spend? I have Vortex's on most of my rifles now and really like them. But it comes down to what you can spend.

Looks like I will get in line. I have one and love it. Let me know if everyone in front of me backs out.

First off sorry to hear about your dad. Good luck and make sure you take lots of pictures. Your last post reminds me of the Jeff Foxworthy skit where he breaks down how much it costs per pound for deer hunting. It is hilarious.

Great job. It isn't always about killing a buck. I tell people about some of the hunts when I get back that I don't kill anything and usually they don't understand that it was still successful.

Where are you located?

Calling works well or scares them out of the country. I have called them in several times and shot my last pig at 3 yards with a bow as it was charging. I usually don't call though until the herd has been spooked. I was out calling coyotes the other day and spotted some pigs. We got the wind in our face and just slowly walked into them for the fun of it. We were within 20 yards easily. Just go slow.

I use the 140 grain Berger VLD's for my 270WSM and love them. No experience with a 300 ultra mag though.
