August Coues deer. Water or Game trail???
AZbowhntr replied to Tbar's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
If you set up on the water tanks you might have some competition. If you are seeing them on the trails that is where I would set up. -
I was up in Idaho visiting family a few weeks ago and met one of my oldest friends for dinner one night. The conversation turned to politics and he mentioned that his wife was voting for Biden (before he dropped out). Not because of anything other than she despises Trump and thinks he is a womanizer. It amazes me that people are so consumed by their hate for Trump that they will go against all of their beliefs and vote for something that they don't believe in or support. I don't know anyone that comes out and says they like Trump. However, almost everyone thinks he did a great job the last time he was in office.

Learned the hard way that a good foam pad is a must on a cot if it is cold. Chef and I were scouting up in the Kaibab years ago and decided to just throw our cots up and sleep under the stars. At about 4 in the morning Hector whispers asking if I was awake. I instantly answered that I was because we both froze that night. The bottom of our sleeping bags were compressed against the cot and the cold air underneath us went right through our bags. Still the coldest and longest night I have ever had out camping.

I used to have a pop up trailer but when I got a side by side I had to choose one to pull. So I sold the pop up and bought a 12X12 Alaknak and the XL cots. I probably sleep better hunting than I do at home.

Yesterday, No longer valid save on gas at Circle K
AZbowhntr replied to Boarman03's topic in Classified Ads
If you have the app on your phone UpSide you can get more off. It depends on the Circle K but I usually get 15 to 25 cents off a gallon. Right now diesel is about 3.80 a gallon in east Mesa depending on which gas station you go to. Crazy how they vary so much. -
My parents are both still alive. 88 and 84 years old. My dad still goes to the gym every day and gets around pretty good. But I can really see the age now when I get to see them. They are in Idaho and I am down here. Definitely makes you think about life and what is important. I try to get up there every few months now. And they were just here a couple weeks ago.

Shawn, do yo ever make it up to the valley? I have the Meopta 10X50 and really like them.

I was paying $145 a month for a 10' climate controlled unit last year. But the prices had gone up to about that for regular storage. If I would have known how popular those places are 20 years ago I would own a couple.

That is awesome. Reminds me of hunting down in Mexico some years ago. We got sidetracked and started calling and seemed to call in doubles or more on every stand. They had never been called before. I always want to get out more and never seem to have the time.

Brought back memories. I had a 72 CJ5 with a 304. That thing was a beast. GLWS

Way to go dad. I get to take my daughter out in a few weeks. Of course she is 28 now so a little different.

Not if you secure it to the bottom of the drawer. Then they would have to take the drawer and all.

Grab it when you can. I am on a waiting list at two different places to order 270wsm brass. It is crazy. Luckily I have a few hundred rounds loaded right now and it isn't like I go out just shooting for fun with it.

Awesome story and way to stick with it. Great bull and not an inch broke off. Congrats

I got a recall notice for my 2018 GMC diesel and asked the dealership about it. They said it was for using too much DEF. So I went ahead and did the fix. It was actually the other way around and I used more DEF and got worse gas mileage. I confronted my service rep about it and he just shrugged it off kind of laughing about it. Pissed me off. Never again.

I went up to Accuracy Speaks at Usery for mine. I have one of my Tikka 270WSM and can't tell that it isn't part of the rifle. They have installed two for me and both are the same. Excellent work.

Congrats on the double. I have had two doubles but both were bull elk and no fun at all. Very exciting until the pictures are taken and the work begins. Would love to hear the story.

I would think if you are waxing your strings it wouldn't make much of a change until you got to some longer shots. One of the purposes of the wax is for that exact thing. To keep the moisture out and causing the string to fray.

I have a compact 15X45X60 Alpen 728 spotting scope for sale. I bought it some years ago and have never taken it out of the house. I have a Vortex Razor spotting scope that I use for everything. So this one has been sitting in my closet. It is perfect for the shooting range or an entry level glassing scope. I am asking $75 for it.

It was nice meeting you Nate.

I am selling a scope that I just took off a rifle because I am upgrading to match all my scopes on my rifles. This is the Vortex Viper 6.5-20X50 PA scope with the Dead hold BDC reticle. I have had it on one hunt and is in almost brand new condition with no ring marks. I am also adding the EGW low profile rings which are 30 mm and the Vortex level. Those two items sell for almost $100. I am asking $450 for everything. The lowest I could find the scope alone is $500 right now. Would make a great Christmas present.
