I took his class some years ago, had a great time and learned a lot. Looking forward to a report on how the class went today.

Go to rifle is a Tikka T3 270 WSM shooting 140 grain VLDs. But I have been thinking about getting the Lazzeroni Patriot out of the gun safe to do some shooting. That is mainly for bigger game though.

I have the Jim White glassing seat and love it. I don't think it is made anymore but it unzips and has a back support that is adjustable and is light weight and attaches to my pack easily. It is attached to the outside of my pack in the picture on my avatar.

That area has a lot of activity in a short period of time. Cool pictures

Great video! There are some awesome bucks in there.

What I have done is find one that fits my mouth which sometimes means trimming them along the sides and throw it in my truck. Then I practice as I drive around town. Otherwise you will drive the wife, kids and dogs crazy. I know this from experience.

If you have decent 10s already I would definitely get the 15s. I am like most of the other replies and carry my 10s around my neck and my 15s in my pack. However I have all of the attachments that I need to glass with my 10s too depending on the distance. I have 10X50s so I have an awesome field of view.

I found that my 20 and 30 yard pins were so close that it made it difficult to determine which was which. So I did away with both and have a 25 yard pin. So I go 25, 40, 50 and 60. If I were hunting coues deer I might rethink it but on mule deer and elk it is good.

12a west late and early. I drew it last year so basically a bonus point. I am hoping that the leftover tags down south continue so that we can keep putting in for hard to draw hunts and still hunt. Someday I think we will have to start throwing one of the south units on the application so that we can make sure we hunt.

Kind of cheating but I thought it would be a great photo op. Probably not too many CWT stickers in Yellowstone.

I was just there this last week. I was in awe the whole time. There are a lot of idiots in this world. I can't believe there aren't more people stomped then there are. People were constantly walking out with the buffalo's with their calves. The problem is that the buffalo have zero fear of people so they just walk around in what looks like slow motion where ever they feel like. So people start thinking they are like cattle and just walk up to them. My wife took video of one walking down the center line of the road while we were driving. It was hilarious to watch.

We are taking a road trip up there next week and I have been doing a little research for what to see while we are there. I came across a link to the top ten things not to do in Yellowstone. There are some stupid people out there. Nothing like watching a video of a guy with a stick in his hand getting chased around a field by a wolf to get you pumped for Yellowstone. Or a woman getting gored by a buffalo. Or another guy reaching out the window of his car and slapping a buffalo as it walks by. It makes me laugh because they warn you to stay at least 25 feet away from the animals. If you get 25 feet away from a grizzly, buffalo or elk you are asking for it if you ask me. They can cover that ground before you blink an eye almost.

When you are talking about the late Kaibab your odds wouldn't be very much different with one point or seven points. Until you get close to or max points (which I am sure seven is not close). Someone could correct me if I am wrong but I am pretty sure that is how it works. It would all be luck no matter what your points are.

I hunted the unit years ago and saw a really nice buck down south of Mule Creek against the private land. The ranch down there had a cowboy that rode the property line making sure no one crossed. That was his job for the week.

Love that buck with the incredible eye guards.

It isn't so much about voting for who I want to be president but who do I want to keep out of the white house.
-
Sweet! That is awesome.

Great rifle. Where are you located? I picked up one of the Lazzeroni Patriot several years ago which is the short mag version if the Warbird made by Savage. If you decide to sell the rifle I would be very interested.

Hands down the 15s. I think the bigger the magnification the bigger the difference between the high end optics and everything else. I have the 15X swaros and 10X meoptas and couldn't be happier.

Awesome, congrats

I can attest for Ernesto on that rifle shooting lights out. I shot my buck the first time I went to Mexico with that rifle.

That is funny. It would have been really funny if the second picture was taken about 30 minutes after the first one instead of 1 1/2 days later.

Awesome, the name is fitting.

Like others have said, if you want to hunt elk in Arizona you can almost every year. If fact with the OTC tags they have you can. You may not kill a monster but you can hunt (and there is that chance). Some of us would rather wait a bit and build some points to draw a real trophy hunt. I think Arizona has a decent mix of both. And you never know you may get lucky and draw that trophy hunt with only a couple points.

I just drew the 12AW tag this last year with a buddy of mine. We saw tons of deer, had a great time and both ended up shooting nice bucks. As big as the unit is you will still run into other hunters. Now if you put in and happen to draw the late tag that is a different story. Then you are talking about shooting a really nice buck and passing normal sized bucks.
