Congrats on a buck of a couple life times.

I was just in 23 the other day doing some calling and saw two herds of Javelina. And we saw a lot more sign. There are also some right around Young. But that would be a little difficult to hunt depending on if it is a HAM hunt or a rifle hunt. Feel free to PM me if you would like and I will give you more specifics. Good luck.

I used to hunt quail all the time off Kings Ranch Rd and always did great on them. Don't remember seeing many rabbits though. You have to go all the way back until you hit the state trust land though. They are slowly building more and more homes back there.

There is a tab that pops off the bumper and it accesses a mount point for a tow loop that threads into it. Apparently he never read the manual. I used to have a BMW and the loop was in the trunk next to the spare tire. It would have been easy to tow.

I had my company Christmas dinner at Rodizio Grill last week and left there stuffed. It is the Brazilian style restaurant where they bring you all the meats on a spit and carve off what you want. And the best thing is it is only $29 per person. I am pretty sure that they just opened not long ago. Excellent food and service. Someone else mentioned the Angry Crab. Really liked that too.

Wow, that really sucks. I have been very fortunate that I haven't had any taxidermy horror stories. I think there are enough people out there and few enough of them that even when they get bad reviews like this they will still get business. And without any organization to watch over them they don't have to be accountable for anything or anyone.

I think with Javelina it is a cycle. They populate way faster than deer and elk do. So the numbers will take off and get out of control in a short time. So the multiple tags come into play for a while until the numbers are brought back down some. Just my opinion anyway.

Congratulations on a great hunt and buck. That is pretty impressive considering you have never stepped foot in the unit or seen a Coues deer before.

This was a pretty laid back Christmas this year. We are building a new home and sort of made limits on spending for each other. Of course I didn't follow the limits at all. And my daughters are both in their late teens, early 20s. So we are going to have to wait for hopefully at least a few years before they have kids for us to start spoiling.

I love the title. That is what I call every hunt that I go on and don't kill anything. Some of them cow hunts are the hardest hunts in the state.

That is a great price for this scope. I have the exact scope on one of my rifles and really like it.

Ouch. That almost happened to me last year on the Kaibab. You have to wonder how that would play out in the future if it ever happened again. Not sure he would be so quick to come forward.

That is about as good as it gets for a typical. I would have shot that buck the first minute of the first morning. Congrats on a great buck.

That looks awesome. A guy that works for me has a son out right now in Chicago on a Spanish speaking mission. Be thankful where your son is. Hopefully you guys get to Skype instead of just talking on the phone.

Sounds like you had a great vacation. I don't think there is anything quite like Yellowstone. And congrats on shooting archery and rifle bucks on the same hunt. Not many people can say that. You should have gotten a picture of it.

So did someone kill the ram? And is there an actual score now? Not sure if I missed something between the two posts.

I wonder if a doe decoy would work with some doe in estrus stray. I haven't had the opportunity to hunt during the rut but it seems like it possibly could pull something in.
