So I am in the market for a new bigger gun safe. I am looking to spend right around a $1000. What is the best safe for that kind of money and where does everyone find them? I have looked at Sportsmans and Tractor Supply Co. but know that there has to be several other places to look. Thanks

That is a great buck. Congrats to your son.

Thanks for the replies everyone. To me it kind of reminds me of buying new tires for my truck. It is something that I have to do but hate spending the money. I would much rather spend the money on another rifle to go inside it. Looking around it is amazing how much money you can spend of a safe.

Was it a one day sale or am I looking at the wrong website? I don't see any 30% discount. That would be my luck.

If I am rifle hunting I could care less. I wash my clothes in the same laundry detergent that we use for regular laundry. If I am going on a archery hunt then I will be a little more careful and wash clothes in scent free detergent and use the scent free soap. Otherwise I just pay attention to the wind as best I can.

I would also look at the Savage long range rifle. Hard to beat their out of the box accuracy.

Both great bucks. Congrats

I am left handed and do everything left handed except golf. Had a friend with right handed clubs that I borrowed when I first started back in high school. Now if I swing a club left handed it feels like a girl swinging. But I putt left handed. Usually take strangers about 2 holes to say something.

At this point I think I would stick with it and wait for the rifle tag. The way I look at it is with archery there are so many things that can happen that are outside my control. Rifle not so much.

Great job on 8 bucks. I don't think I could ever pass on a 100+ inch two point. How big was the ranch you guys were hunting?

Burr, that looks really cold. But fun. Although not so much after the pictures were taken. Congrats

The worst thing is that most of our pets have much shorter lives than we do. So we have to go through that over and over again. I had a GSP that I had to put down a few years ago due to liver cancer and it was the hardest thing I have ever done. I told my wife I couldn't even imagine loosing a close family member. Luckily the hurt fades over time.

My last bow was a Parker. I really liked it and it shot well. Just because it is a smaller unknown company does mean they don't have great bows.

I have given up on messing with the moon phase and all of that. When I can get time to get out and hunt I go for it. I have scheduled Mexico hunting trips around the moon in the past and didn't see much difference. If I had to pick between hunting the moon and the rut I would try to time the hunt with the rut. They will be up and moving no matter where the moon is.

Lance, even your photos are high quality. That is why I am bringing you my Lazzoroni the next time I get to the west side. -
There was just another thread with the exact same request earlier in the week. Look it up. There were a couple people that had some. I bought 2 pounds.

The same thing happened last year when I applied for me and a few friends. All of us had the option except one. Never looked into it more because I wasn't getting it anyway. I would like to hear the outcome.

I have hunted the late archery hunt in 23 twice throughout the years. If you don't have any or very low points it isn't a big deal to put in for one. However if you are starting to build points I would never blow them on those hunts. I have had chances on both hunts and shot a nice bull the last time. But they are the hardest hunts you will be on unless it happens to be completely dry and they have to hit water. Just look at the success rates. Usually below 10%.

Dang, that is over an hour drive. Too bad. I guess us east siders will have to have one.

Looks like a blast. Those are some great pictures.

I don't think you will find anyone to say not go after it.

And that is why pig hunting is one of my favorite hunts all the way up until the kill. You never know what is going to happen. Sounded like one to remember.

Loco4coues, I sent to a message.

I have had one for about 10 years now. I have been on the fence for a few years about selling it and getting a wall tent with a stove in it. I like the comfort part of it but I don't like having to tow it around which limits where you can go. I hunted Colorado some years ago with the pop up and it was so cold that the furnace never shut off one night. That tells you how insulated they are.

Skydive Arizona is down in Eloy. When my wife was pregnant with my now 21 year old me and a couple friends came up with the stupid idea to get certified to jump on our own. We ended up jumping 4 times before one of my buddies landed in a Mesquite tree and I had my trailer chute wrap around one of the parachute cells. Needless to say we decided to pick a safer past time.
