Two New Rifle Upgrades Coming Soon To An Addict Near You...
AZbowhntr replied to lancetkenyon's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
As I read through this thread all I can think about is how much your wife has to love you. I am not sure I would have the same luck. -
Great bear and cool video. You knocked the crap out of that thing. What caliber and bullet where you using?

Meet Shelby Akin, The Future Hunter Extraordinaire In My Family!!!
AZbowhntr replied to lancetkenyon's topic in The Campfire
Congrats Lance. That is awesome. -
Lance does awesome work. I didn't even put my rifle away for about a week after I picked mine up. Just leaned it against the gun safe so that while I was working at my desk I could look over and admire it.

Them lower hunts can depend on the weather. I grew up in Idaho and always hunted up around Carey. I have seen some monsters come out of there.
-
And fat as heck.

The worst thing about getting older is all the people we looked up to when we were younger are at that age. On the flip side that is some great wood working right there.
-
I really like it too. Especially since it is my stock. Can't wait to get my hands on it. Awesome job as always Lance.

Great looking bear. What does the hide look like after the winter?

AZ Game and Fish's Fish Stocking Schedule Questions
AZbowhntr replied to Rag Horn's topic in Fishing
I am in the middle of moving right now and my new next door neighbor is with the Game and Fish and over all the hatcheries. I could probably ask him any fishing related questions and get a pretty accurate answer. -
I am on my second pair of Natives. I really like the interchangeable lens. That said I looked through a pair of Maui Jims with the HD lens and was blown away. The sharpest lens I have ever seen.

I am not big into knives but those things are awesome.
-
Congrats to the both of you. Look forward to some stories this Saturday.

That gift card will just about cover a meal there. Been there once with my wife and another couple and it ended up being $700 for everything. Probably the best steak I have ever had though. I couldn't believe the place was packed. Lots of money in there.

Double Beards, First Birds, Triple Beards and Missouri Floods

What a trip. I like the decoy. -
Sold it the other day. But just got back from turkey hunting. Ron, it was a pleasure meeting you.

I have finally decided to switch to a wall tent of some sort so I am going to sell my pop up trailer. The trailer is an 04 and I have had it since 06. I bought it off an older couple that used it for a road trip one summer. It has been kept in my garage almost the entire time I have had it. I have had all of the maintenance done on the trailer including a new inverter just this last week. I had the wheel bearings repacked a couple years ago. It has a brand new battery too. There was one small tear in the canvas that I had patched in one of the front corners. I am looking to get $2100 for it OBO. I can be reached at 480-294-567three.

That is great news. It would be great to hear his story of the last couple weeks. Probably quite the adventure.

I just got back from a few days chasing them. I was in unit 23 and they were gobbling pretty good the first hour. After that only once in a while. I shocked called early and moved in on the closest gobble. Saw them but could never get them to leave the hens they were with. We ended up basically spot and stalking them. We would sit up high and watch the openings and try to cut them off. Almost worked too.
-
Let's just hope that the turkeys are gobbling. There wasn't much action during the youth hunt.

Luckily my buddy's girlfriends birthday is this weekend. So we are taking off Sunday and hunting through Wednesday. Should be great. We will have it mostly to ourselves.
-
My buddy's son just shot a turkey this last weekend with a 20ga. He was using some shells with 3 different sized shot loaded in them.

Sorry to hear that. I know what you are going through. When I had to put my GSP down a couple years ago after 14 years it was literally the hardest thing I have ever done. Luckily it gets better over time.
