I was there a few years ago and we went out for a day fish. We took turns on the pole and ended up landing 3 fish. There were six of us total. If I was to do it again I would want a max of 4 guys and fish for whatever is biting instead of going for bigger fish. It can be pretty slow waiting for bites.

Great buck. Yes, you do not pass that buck up. Congrats to your son.

This is kind of like our version of decorating a house. It is funny to sit here reading about color choices. That said I really like the Patriot Brown.

Was that a cat or a little dog? I have some behind my house that I am going to thin out this Saturday morning. I hear them early in the morning howling.

Making a difference --- healing through hunting!

Best post of the week. Awesome -
Congrats on a great buck. Let him know his hair looked good for the pictures.
-
They might already be bedded down now. It has got pretty warm the last week. I have three friends with kids that have youth tags and they all say it is really warm. They are all saying that the bucks are bedding early.

That is a real nice bull. And that sounds very familiar.

Had me going for a second. Great picture as always.

Congratulations, that is awesome.

Congrats again Phil on an incredible bull. The videos of the fight were awesome to watch. It is amazing how powerful they are.

Congratulations on an awesome bull! You deserve it. The bad thing is that it is over now and you get to go back to work.

Congrats on a great hunt. This is the kind of write ups I like. I can't wait for an archery tag. Nothing like being up close and personal with bugling bulls for a week.

Dang that sucks. It is one thing when you hit a deer and it takes out your grill. But to hit an elk they clear the grill and come on in and join you in the front seat.
-
That looks great. By the way with a stud finder on deep cycle you can find the studs. I just moved and had to mount two bulls, a mule deer and coues deer on a wall with plywood over the studs. Got everyone of them the first time. I pre drill the holes so I don't split the studs due to the width of the bolts.

I have called in several coyotes up north. Unfortunately we were calling for turkeys. Last year I started packing my AR with me while the others shotguns.

Even if the bull was mortally wounded I feel the proper thing is to finish the job. If the original hunter had a mortally fatal shot than the bull should be his. But to say the second hunter should have sat there and not finished the bull is disrespectful to me. We as hunters owe it to the animals we hunt to shoot and kill them as fast as possible. That is where respect comes in. I have trophies mounted on the walls in my home. It isn't to show off my kills but to show respect for the animal and the hunt memories.

Congrats on a great bull.

How many days are you archery elk hunting for??
AZbowhntr replied to twigsnapper's topic in Elk Hunting
I agree Flatlander. But we are not the typical hunters here on the site. Most average Joe's will be heading back home after a few days hunting. -
Is the bipod still available.
-
I will remember that information for 25 years from now when I finally draw my antelope tag. I don't think it is quit the same as giving info for deer and elk.
-
I am in the east valley and will take it if still available. I will send an IM right now.

Definitely not something you see walking down the middle of a residential street everyday. Be curious to hear the story behind that.
-
Congrats on the buck. Been there done that. Except I did it with a Kaibab mule deer tag.
-
What tag do you have? I have seen a ton of deer through there but I think it mostly if not all mule deer. And like posted above there will be people camped everywhere. As for worrying about camp problems maybe I have been lucky. I have probably camped in 23 at least 50 times throughout the years and have never had a problem.
