True outdoorsman and one heck of a guy if you ask me. Here is a big hurray to him who ever he may be. And yes I do fill you had luck on your side that day. What will be cool is if you get a few pictures of him you may see him in the field some day and get to thank him.

I will say I do see alot of deer and Elk along fence lines. This is a good place to pick up trails.

Hum Hum Unit 8 you say. I think I would have to say there are no Elk in unit 8 Right. you must have been mistaken. UM UR WELLU . Nice shed for sure You should be able to find some worth mounting up there. I LIKE IT ALLLLOOOT. OH yes unit 8 has been closed for this coming year to. So nobody put in for it or you will waste your time

I think it depends on your meaning of a funnel. Ther can be two types of funnels I think of. One would be a saddle into a nice secluded bowl in the top of a ridge. The other would be the exscape rute that a buck would use to high tail it out of that bowl. If you look at a high ridge line you can almost tell were the natural bowls are. They do not have to be very deep at all either. To me a funnel is a new term but that is how i would read into the question asked. I hope we get some good feed back on this one I would like to know what you all fill a funnel is.

The monster was killed by a hunter hired to track him. He was killed by a trap set with a gun in a cave set to fire when the trigger was sprung in the trap. Thw hunter sat in a tree for two days to make sure the bear did not live. That is how I read the story I will try to find it again. I do not know how true it is but I do remember reading it someplace. Lark or some body else with a bit more AZ history under there belt may know that. I would like to here from amanda on her take of the AZ Elk herds. I do not know this as a fact but have been told that the reservation will not allow the AZ game and fish to test the Elk on there land. That seems a bit strange to me. I may be way out of line with that as well.

If you ask me a pocket of the elk were never killed off. I fill they survived around the san carlos reservation area of the mountains.. I have taken some flack over this before and will probably take some now too. The size of elk taken from there and the size of antlers found proves that some good blood has survived from somplace.

I say if you want a dec hunt it better be your first choice. I will be in one of the unit 34s I hope. I am sure I will be down there but I hope to draw my own tag there as well.

That is to bad. The giffords are a hunting family. Infact i do believe it was Ty Goodman in payson that guides them here in AZ.

The rancher would not let the game and fish come on his land to seperate the two bulls and they died. This has been the case twice last year. Right or wrong who knows. but that is what hapened.

Yes my five year old son will set through a whole fight on TV if mom would let him.We fight and wrestle all the time. He always wins ya know. And he will turn around and say the champion of the world is trace the racer .

I boxed a bit in high school. When it was not Football season..I am a father now and do not do that kind of stuff any longer.I use to spar with a guy that is a cage fighter. He needs some folks to knock around a bit so I would help him out with it. He no longer does it either. He had his eye socket crushed and was told he could no longer fight in the cage.I have a hard time even waching it anymore it gets my nervs wound up to much. I guess that is what a few kids and a wife will do to you. Not only that I do not want my ears looking any worse than they do right now. If you know what I mean.

Here is my two dollars worth. All I have to say is if CHD Chris Is going to post any more pictures on this forum I hope they all have the blond that was holding the coues shed, Because all those men in the pictures are all butt ugly. And josh I hope you find someone to put in your shed photos to help you out too. If I have to see that cheesy goatie smile again I just may stop reading posts on this forum. I like all the posts you guy's make. I think I can arange a cage fight if you all need one. It always makes me fill better. Lets face it it is all about the brag anyways. I just wish I had something worth bragging about. PS. CHD My sister in law lives in Green river WY. How is the hunting around there. I have thought about putting in there just because I would have a place to stay.

That is bear hunting all the way. You will bring it together soon enough. It takes time to learn that critter. They are not just a big black moving target. Maybe you could spend some phone time with bullwidgeon (I do not know if I spelled that right or not). I have not spent enough time on that mountain to help you. I do not know that he has either, But when you read his posts you better listen I think him and his dad have learned how to hunt bears.

I spent mine about a month ago.

I orderd my hunters planner out of tropy hunter mag last week and it came today. It is like the franklin planners. The whole month of may is coues deer photos. It is a very nice planner for the 25.00 bucks. Each month shows a difrent game animal and it has the score cards to show you how to score each one. It has guide and state info as well as organization and there info. Each page is borderd by camo and has a full page photo as well as a trohpy and the info on that hunt.

Yep that sounds like he is on his way back to his old mean self.

I think they would have let him out by now. Hey guy's just put the rope around the bars and pull. We are on our way lark just hang in there. Stay away from anyone they call bubba Remember you can't do that to a mule in pinal county and get away with it. They will always put you away for that kind of thing. It hurts the good blood lines in that area.

He has gone back to the Game and Fish. He has always worked for them and was undercover here on the site. He has now taken all we said back with him. We are in for it now. Maybe he is down on the border glassing or maybe even over in Iraq fighting the war. I am sure he will have some great stories when he returns from his walk about.

I say clear out some Elk so we can have our Deer herds come back stronger after this good rain. They will have all the good growth cleaned up befor the deer can use it.

I wanted to say it, But wasn't going to tuch it. You never know who might be looking at you through there scope in the field.
