If you find Post road on a map. It runs from the road from benson and st david up the the highway to the fort. It will go across an old railroad bed. Take that railroad bed to the south. You will find some canyons that are full of Cat claw brush. There used to be some very nice buck running in that country. Tyhe only problem with it is it has been destroyed and hammered by UDA's in the last few years so i do not know if the deer have mooved out. (and it is hunting at your own risk in there as well) Another thing i have done is Park on the main higway That runs down to the fort. You will go about two miles south of the post road that i mentioned above There are some water tanks right there Park up against the fence with a note that you are deer hunting right in that area(so highway patrole does not have you towed thinking you are broke down or abandand). Then hunt from the highway to the mountains. They are the wet stone mountains. You will need to make sure you do not get on the cavern property though. Other than that i do not know any more area to tell you.The carp in that unit have been hammerd over the last few years. I saw three monsters running together in this last area i told you about threee years ago, But have seen very few mule deer in the last two years.

Yes you can't do that stuff to chickens and get away with it with sheriff joes posse on the gaurd.

They have some great ideas in cabelas of racks and goodies to go with the rino ans ranger type of utv.

What do you use on your quad. Do you use the hard shell gun boots or the gun racks on your front or back rack.

What 10x alpens do you have and are you going to sale them to get other binos. If so let me know the price. I have the alpen 10x42 and like them just fine. I also have the 10x42 monarchs and they are just a bit brighter than the alpens. And the swaros are just a bit brighter than the monarchs. I need a back up pair so let me know.

I will only be using it to go from my camp to the glassing spot. The rest is done on foot and mule if we get something down.

Does anyone know what the law states about a child riding on the back of your quad while you drive. This year will be my 6 year old sons first hunt and i will be taking the quad for back up transportation. I have a print out from th coconino county seriffs dept saying that to ride double the second rider needs handles of some kind to ride with you. I thought it was only aloud on the X2 quads like polaris and bombardeir just came out with last year. We will be hunting in unit 27 , and the law should read the same as it does in coconino county right. Just curious about it.

I just put it in the sleeve for my spoting scope in my badlands pack with the lens covers on.

They call that the Old bait and switch ya know. It is a way to many people do buisness now days. Hope you have more photos for us. My sister in law is a wild land fire fighter on the hellatack team and jumpers. she was in Alaska for the last few months and has some great photos. I can't waite to go there.

Well I have six people to get around most of the time. That is my 4 kids, wife and i. most of the time hunting it will just be two or three of us. So the ranger would more than likley be the right thing. I am going to get one or the other after i finish this next house i am plumbing.

I just wish the rino had a full seat like the ranger. I like the rino the best out of all of them but the seats have held me back so far. I would have to buy two of them for my family. I am betting that unit 27 will be swarmed with quads and Game and fish this year. That is why i am so woried about it. It seems evry year tere are more and more game and fish in that area.

I guess i agree with phx hunter that it is silly to keep this going on his thread about his lope. First off no one ever said they were going to call the Game and fish much less the AZ game and fish. The post is under hunting in new mexico. My first post to this thread said that maybe he should remove the photo if it was a doe as to not get in trouble. I did not see the part about the doe tag. Second i was just saying i am in the same boat as PHX hunter and did not want to sound like i was trying to bust some one. Third my point is i do not care if you are a member of the forum if i did Eye witness you violating a game law i would call the game and fish I do not care who you are. seeing a picture on a forum is not an eye witness to anything and in this case there was nothing to eye witness right. I don't think i was trying to bust anyone either PHX hunter. If i was going to bust anyone it would be with a call to the fish and wildlife dept. But i would have to say the fact of the matter would be i do not care if you are a fellow member of this site i would turn anyone in for a game violation. All i told him was he may want to remove the photos if it was a doe. That was until i saw that it was a doe tag as well.

Use skin so soft for a repelent. And i use a head,face net this time of year as well.

Very nice lope congrats to you on a great hunt.Lopes are not good to get hooked on as they are so hard to draw out on. I would have to wonder how that lope was killed with his face in such good shape. something has cleaned him down good but for the face to be that good of shape sure is strange.

He has a helmet. He has his own quad but it will not be on the hunt with us.

My first rifle is still the rifle i use today. It is a rem 700 adl in 25-06. It has served me very well from the day i got it from my father 26 years ago. The only thing that has changed on it is the scope and the sling over the years. If it works why change right.

Im pissed off about the video. I got a darn Carp tag. Another great video with some very nice bucks, And very proud hunters.

What are the bears eating. The Grizzly Man. I know that was sick and un called for. We used this to bag us to nice bucks when i was in Highschool. We just got ahead af the kitchen pot and pan beatting freaks and let them chase two nice bucks righ to us.
