    Hunt Sucess

Redman glad that area panned out for you. The area i had talked to you about holds some great Bucks but they are hard to find and far between . I do know the area you are in and it is some rough stuff. I know one hunter on this site that has done very well in there. Love to see the back ground as well. good luck on your sons hunt.

    ATV plate and tags

YEs mine has full covrage on it and it runs me another 200 a year on my policy with country. the quad is a 325 trail boss and is a 2002. so it may not cost to much.

Way to go. Looks like all your trips paid off for you. This is the best time of year when all the photos start rolling in. And yess great photo of the lay of the land and the pointer to tell us the spot you saw Bucks. It may help people to decide spots on the hill sides to glass.

    Jumping Jack Trailers

I think it has two big windows on all the sides. The front only has the one window. I have not looked close enough to it to see if the door is sreened. They have the zipper locked on the one at sportsmans in mesa. But i bet if you opened the windows in the rest of the trailer you would have plenty of air flow. I looked a little closer today and it has a bed big enough for two on the one side and a bed big enough for one on the other side with a table in the middle. An plenty more room for what ever. Or you could take out the table and put a matress on the floor and sleep two more.

One of them must read this site, Because today at sportsman in mesa they have a rhino on top of the trailer.

    wish me luck!

Well put Bret. Casey i am sure you are a great guy. And this is not said against you in any way. I am glad you got your Lic and want to guide. The guide field has been flooded to the gills in AZ. That is why i got out of it this year. It atkes a diferent kind of hunter to be a guide. I am ready to hunt for me again. My son is coming up and ready to hunt with me. Enjoy it while you can. And learn the right way to guide. To be the best you can be you need to do it full time and not just during hunting season for a few days. Each unit is very much diferent than the units around it. People are going to rely on your evry move and choice you make for them in the field. They will know when you are feeding them full of it to try and not look like a bad guide when you can not get them on a deer. Be ready for people that will try and chew you up and spit you out for not performing to the fullest for them. Most of theese guys are wealthy and will make you relize that through most of the hunt. They will push your buttons and drive you Mad and then when you get them that chance they will miss and screw up the stock, And it will all be your fault. They will talk about that at camp with evry one there. If you can deal with that kind of crap you just might do ok. I have seen it hapen to me as well as other guides and outfitters.

    hunting solo

I always know if i made the shot count by the return of the thud. Make sure your eyes stay open the whole shot. I am not saying that to make you sound like a wimp that flenches or is scared of a shot. But you would be suprised at how many hunters i have seen shoot will blink in that split second of recoil. If you keep your eyes open you will see what way he goes. Snug that gun in tight and firm and the recoils should not throw you off far enough to lose site. All the info shortpants gave was good. I would say that your naked eye is your best chance after the shot. If you shoot and he is no longer in site of your scope my guess is he is flat butt running down hill from you in a high rate of fuel consumption. If it is a good shot like you will make he will most likly drop on the spot Thus still in your scope site. The hard thing will be to not lose him after he is down. So make sure you mark your shooting spot very well as well as the spot you shot him at and where you see him down at. This way you have three locations to go back to and trace your shot again. To many people make a great shot on a great buck and waste it to not being able to find it. I have lost one deer in my life. It was an archery buck . I found it four days later about 20 yards away from the spot i thought i saw him go down. By this time he had some coyote eating on him and he may have been drug to this point. I am not sure. My brother and a friend lost a booner of a buck two years ago because they could not remember the exact spot they shot from. OOPS it took me to long to finish the post with putting the kids in bed. It sounds like you are thinking right on with marking the shooting spot. I would not waste the time at first to jump up and look through the binos for blood . I would be looking for a deer running away from the are. And if at all posible to hear him running from the area. This is hard if you do not have your ears protected during the shot. I have a set of foam plugs for those time i get to set up the shot.

    CHD Spotted

TLH I am just harasing you a bit. I am sure that CHD has a few friends around. I do not get into god and christ fight with anyone. if any thing we all have for sure it is our right to choice. I am sure that chris is a great hunter, and great guy. he has brought my Wife and kids into an argument we had on some subject that i am sure was somthing about somebody and how they need to learn to spell and learn how to be a contrabution to the site. or waite was it the time he jumped on a member of our site and called him a wimp and a bad hunter because they did not kill a lion when they saw it. or wait was it the time he braged about being an out of state hunter that drew a tag and how funny it was that we all got screwed by the rulling for the cap that year. or crud i can't remeber because it is always something. I am just like him though i like to keep a fight going on way longer than it needs to. it must be the white trash in my back ground.

do they make one with tandem axcels. That would be real great. You would be able to haul more weight on it.

    Seat for Glassing

I just use the little three lag ones that fold into them selves (if ya understand what i mean) They Are only 4.00 at sportsmans. you set on them and they are kind of like a sadle shape.they used to have one that folded down even more but i have not seen them in a while. They do not have a back. Or i used my self inflatable seat. and lean back on a rock face or tree trunk. i like being up off the ground if i can. Then your Butt and leggs do not fall asleep.

    Road Hunters SUCK!

Yes they do. But lets not forget than some people are stuck to that for other reasons, And they can shoot from that vehicle as well. Lets not forget that Lots of big game has been taken from the road. lets not forget that they are part of the hunting preasure that keeps bucks up and moving back towords the hills. Lets not forget that each road hunter is one less hunter in the hills pissing you off. This leavs the best for those that work for it.

Hey now you are thinking that would be cheeper than making a whole new cage and making it shorter. But if i amn adding the seats in the rear i have to have the cage replaced like Jim said. And in that case i will just have it made shorter to fit in a toy hauler. Letting the air out would give you about four to five mor inches of clearance. Plug your little compressor in and you are ready to ride.

    Jumping Jack Trailers

Hey Jim. could a guy build a roll cage that is a little shorter than the stock ones. Then just take it and powder coat it. I will need the seats in the back of my ranger and i will need the extended roll cage. so i may talk to the guy that builds the extention and have him build it as a solid cage and take the main cage down about four inches. I saw two of them while i was out riding yesterday and there seemed to be enough room to do this Mod.

Cool. I saw travis while he was out shooting Quail today. he told me he saw his brothers bull hornes and they are huge. I told him you had the video posted on here , But he said he saw it at his brothers house. I was out on a quad run. I glassed up a monster coues at about 600 yards. He was a buck that wet dreams are made of. I told travis to bad he had a mule deer tag in that area and not a coues tag.

I think they just alow them to show them infront of the stores. Theyu are there evry day at the Mesa store. They have three of them out front. One with a honda on top and closed up and then one set up And another with all the add on on it. I am thinking they will only sleep two people unless there is more bed space than i see in them. That is the problem with the toy haulers that i have heard is they hit the lower drop down beds. Are the rangers as tall. I am wanting a ranger and i was going to be getting a toy hauler for it. I guess if i go with justy one drop down bed in the back it should work right. I do not need the double full beds to drop in the rear.
