MUle deer are next to nothing in there and coues deer are on the way down as well.

it is becoming very alarming to me to see the bigger packs of lions out on the run. I have noticed more and more of the packs being spotted and seen hunting together like African lions. I have been told by a few Ranchers that they are notecing this as well. They are seeming to take more and bigger cattle than in the past as they can do more damage as a pack than the lone lions we used to see. I understand the yearling Cats with the moms but this is more and more adult lions staying together and hunting together. The ranch we have hunted for our lifetime is prime example of this. The Rancher told us the only way he is letting people hunt his Ranch is to see a Lion tag along with the Deer or Pig tag.

You guy's are right I should have just kept it to my self. Until i had photos of it. When i said like african lions i ment how they were hunting together. Not that they had long shag manes growing and tails with bushy ends. I am sure you two know all about it and could teach us all a thing or two about it. So all i am asking is that you go start your own thread about the joke pointed at me and then we can all have a blast with it. Just do not highjack this thread so that when people read it they wonder what the heck is going on. I am looking for those that have seen this and have info about it. So if you do not have any good info about lions your self then start a thread about something you do know about. Like makeing jokes at other people. Have a good one and thank you for whatever it is you do.

I am most likly a fool but this is why my lic is done this year. i told you all this in a post quit a few months ago.I knew about it a while ago. I will not pay a 200 rais in one year. So have at it all and have a blast guideing i have more things to do with my time. I will leav it all to the real pros like the mullins and the Mclendons. I will refer all my hunters from here on out the Jim and his clan. I am already injoying more time with my wife and kids and prospecting like i love to do.

I would move down the hill out onto the plateau and take the 250 yard shot. I have also just waited the buck out so the cactus was not in the way and taken the shot from the ridge i was on as well.

my Black died over a year ago from cancer. He was awesom If he barked you knew someone was by the gate, Other than that he was silent and easy going. That tail was registered as a leathl weapon though.

To me it is a waist for him to just lay there. I know the meat is far waisted by the time you found him but please do not let that skull go to waist as well. I do not think most of us on this site would look badly on you for going in and getting it in a month.

I know ATV's are not what this thread is about but i know for a fact that my ATV gets me to a couple spots in my area that trucks stoped going about 15 years ago. I know mine stoped there because i rolled it on the climb in the last time i tryed it 15 years ago. I am not a road hunter my my quad IS a tool for me to get to the spot that takes me 5 miles by foot tlo my hunting grounds. And yes i do see some guys back there that are Pack hunting as well. but my quad saved me another 6 miles by foot.

What you are failing to see is i know young lions from older lions. I am not making this up. I am seeing lions that are at least two years old running together. I am sure they are female cats and not toms. But i do know what i am looking at here and yes i see mother and baby up to about a year and that is not what i am talking about. I do not have proof other than what i have seen and hear of people seeing. When people are reporting 5 lions running together that is alot of young babies with there mom And if it is more than one mom with cubs than that is still a pack is it not. Even if it was one mon with all those cubs that is still a pack is it not. I never said i saw a pack of toms running together.

What is the cause of the hair being scraped up. Are there any puncture wounds from a buck fight. It is no lion kill. I guess i would wire his skull to a tree as well. The coyotes need a free meal in that area anyways.GO back in a month and have yourself a nice skull. I am not very ethical though. They are not going to come out and look at it first of all. I know a guy that had pure proof of a young cub bear beeing poached and they never gave him the time of day. The main reason is they did not want to get out of the truck and hike to the spot of the cub. He recived one call from them to take a statment and that was the end of it. This guy has sure proof and they brushed it off.

What i am beeing told by the Rancher's is they are killing in packs. I know that young lions will hang with Momma a little while. The ones i have seen with my own eyes are not a Mom, and young cats they have been full grown adult Cats. This may have been going on for years , but not that i have seen. Any ways it is all good info that you are all bringing to the table. It seems that lots of us have seen the same thing.

Yes it has turned from what it started out as. That seems to be the way most threads go. I would have to agree that there IMO more lions around now than what we used to see. Now it may be because there are more of us out and using more technology that we have. The fact of the matter is that people are seeing more now than they used to. I would say that peoples word is a kind of fact. They are the ones out seeing them. I know i see them so others can as well. Like i said i do not say for sure this is a spike in numbers or a spike in them coming closer to were people are and people to were lions are. I know some people will say they saw a lion and in fact they never have, But when you spend lots of time in COues country your chance will increas alot. I like to see all opinions but yes it is true they are just opinions backed by some facts and some fiction. Thanks. Becker on what issue are you wanting hard facts. Is it the post that started this about lions running in a pack. or that there are more lions out there than we thought. I can tell you this with no doubt the one that started this post about the packs is me and i am not an internet hunter that could not find his way across an open field. Others on the board will have to talk for them selvs. But by some of the pictures i have seen from this year and the guy's i do know i would say that the internet hunter on this forum is very low. Not wanting to fight but looking for clarity in your remark. I know you and Andy put in some good time in the Field hunting. Why does Hunting need it's Ulmers And it's Chuck Adams anyways. Up until i saw Randy and a photo posted on this site a few months ago I had no idea who he was. I hunt because I was raised doing it and it is a true Love i have. I get two magazines sent to my house. One is Eastman's because they are a long line of hunters and truly mean good things with there magazine and the other is cabelas because it just comes. Now i had seen Randy ulmers photos in Eastman and thought wow what a great buck. I never fallowed him and made the conection of it being the same guy evry time. I have three hunting heros that i listen to evry word they say. #1 my father, # 2 my uncle Joe, #3 my grandfather that has passed away. Theese are true hunting Heros. They have taken more big bucks in there life than i will probably have the chance to. Yes it was from a time that monster bucks roamed all Arizonas units. It was also a time that they had a Rifle A horse and a few shells in there pocket. They truley went out and hunted for the bucks they took home. If i could become half the hunter those men have been in there life then one day my son will say the same thing about me. I do not care what one hunters methode or etics are as i know mine. Yes i use lots of new technology in my hunting that my dad say's why do you need all that extra weight in your pack for. And my son will use more technology than i use today when he is my age. My point being lets not make the Michale jordan of hunting our main stay in the sport. The sponsors love this because evry one will run out and buy the same toilet paper as Randy Ulmer because it says it on his hunting Coat. This is crazy Hunt the way you hunt because that was the way your Father showed you. Not because a guy that has lots of money and has killed a few big bucks tells you this is the way to hunt. Forget about flying and chute planes. Listen to what Jim (cousefan) has said. The big buck is not worth having to set the season out because you broke a legg in your chute plane. Fly them and use them in the area they were ment to be in and have fun. They were not made for a hunting tool so i will not spend my hard earned dollar on one. I will spend it on a quad and other things that other folks hate though. So my point once again is hunt the way you hunt because it is they way you hunt. Not the way the guy in the magazine hunted.

Lucky It sounds like you were one of the "LUCKY" ones. Yes this new breed of lions are man eating dog killing Lions. Lets all get our pitch forks and go after them.

I would just move to mexico after all it is safe down there and not here..

If they did issue that warning i would heed it.
