I new that the hanoi jane film would get you fired up. I was only 8 when I saw it and did not know better. But the fish story about walter always stuck with us while hunting. I hope you get that javalina this year so we can all see what bret looks like in real life. Have a good one.
-
Every big buck I see gets the name walter. If you have seen on golden pond you will understand. I know some guy's name them when scouting. Me my self walter is good enough. I think most of it was started by the hunting magaziens. It is kind of strange isnt it. My brother and I will say to each other things like I saw walter yesterday or I saw one of walters brothers or dad or grandpa. I hope this does not put me in that catagory. Thanks Lark now I am woried about it. HAHAHA.

Bret great bull man. It is amazing to see what a great hunter can do with the knowledge he gains from years in the field. You put it to good use and look what you got for all that time and hard work. Way to go Bret. Jade.

I left my camera on the side of the mountain after getting pictures of my buck two years ago. It was gone by the week. USO has lost a few sponsers this year and I hope he does not find them again.HAHAAHAAHAHAHAHAHa.

renting wall tents
COUESAZ replied to azcoueshuntr's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Glad to see you are so thankful. HAHAHA Yes I think the one on this site would be worth having it seems the price is great. You cant beat a good canvas wall tent. Unless you are in a motor home or trailer. -
If you look hard enough you just might find a bear bait of some kind. I have come across a few of them while out in the field.

Lion Stalking deer
COUESAZ replied to TREESTANDMAN's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Yes that one guy over there thinks all his studies on lions has tought him a thing or two. Lions teach me a thing or two every time I incounter one. I have seen a lion take a coues deer in that same position. It ran right up the butt of the deer befor the deer even knew it had bought the farm. I am sure they grab deer any way they can. I have never seen a lion just set on the trail to ambush a deer if one just hapend to pass by. They are always on the look out and on the hunt. I am not for sure but I do fill they will ambush the deer while the deer is occupied with eating. And not while the deer is on the move and more aware of there soroundings. who knows for sure I think they are great photos no matter what. -
You are right Lark I did not even think about it being with a bow. I guess I better catch up to what time of year it is.
-
Man I hate to hear that. Such a waste to shoot and not put in the time and efort to track it down. It sounds like it could be a good bear season. I hope this reminds everyone to put in all the efort you can into finding your downed game. If we are not willing to put in the work for the game we should not shoot at it. I have seen them go along ways wounded. A gut shot is painfull enough that I do not believe she went far from the spot she was shot. I hate to get all bent about this, But I tagged a spike mule deer one year that I saw two guy's shoot twice. One shot blew the bottom jaw off the deer the other hit it in the ancle (it would have survived the flesh wound to the ancle) not the missing jaw. I went over after they said it was just a spike. I put one round through the heart and tagged it. By the time I got down to it they had taken off. I hate to see it waste. I would go get the skin and all if I had seen it.

Trouble and Danger in UNIT 34A
COUESAZ replied to BACKCOUNTRY's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Yep that is not a good thing at all But in that area you had better be on your gaurd as much as you can be. Even though it is archery season and against the law to pack a hand gun while archery hunting. It may be high time to pack that snub nose 38 in the fanny pack. I would rather be guilty and have a fighting chance than dead. I know a gun like that would not do much against the drug runners but it would be nice to have for a little peice of mind While out in the field. If some one comes up against me back at my camp they will have a few guns to be afraid of. I know at night it is hard to be aware of what is going on around us while sleeping. The safest thing you can do is not be out there by your self ever. Lets be careful out there and keep an eye out to help each other. Report those illeagles and drug runners when you see them. you just might save a life down the road. -
Hey Lark see ya there. If you ask me it is about time.

Bombero13 Great point you bring up here. It goes to show there true ways for sure. Thank you for pointing that out to us. All the sponsers say there number one reason for sponsering anything is for the habitat and the deer and elk. Not so of the USO as we see.
-
I do not know if someone has posted this yet or not. The outdoor chanel is having there legal people looking at how they can cut the contract with the USO. They had sighned the contract to air the show before all this came out. They said they did not have part and would not have had part in this battle. I have seen the Email but do not have it to post. It can be seen at arizona outback prospecting forum under the hunting part of the forum.www.arizonaoutback.com

Keep your eyes in the glasses my friend. Are you sure you have your eyes open while they are on the binos. (just a joke). I hate to say this to much out loud but you should be seeing some great bucks. Stay away from the main flow of hunting preasure. Remember some preasure is good. It moves the deer while you set and rest for the pack out. Rest your eyes often to some times they need rest and then you can see movment better. In the morning glass from the shady sides then you will catch them sunning and grabing a bite to eat. They sure do shine in the sun. alot of good bucks I see I find there hornes and ears first. Look for the horazontile lines of the deer too. Like there back line or belly line. Alot of guy's will look in the brush for leggs. it does not work that way. As far as some spots to go good luck with the ones you have hunted in the past. Stick with them because those 100 inch bucks have got to grow sometime. it sounds like you have got some very good spots picked out. They are there and you will find them. They have to do some moving you just have to be watching when they do move. Hope this helps you out.

Lark No I am to much like you I think. I never back down from a punch and some times to fast to swing the first one. I got an email sent to me about causing trouble on the site by using a few names. I do not know exactly who it was from because they were to chicken $hit to give there name. I just figured as a hunter and sportsman I would ask for public forgivness ya know. It must not be enough to cause to much trouble because Amanda did not say anything to me. Plus I just felt a tiny bit bad for joining in on a bash against people I have never met. (tiny bit) I hope some time we get to meat up and shoot the BS because we seem to share some of the same thoughts and how to deal with things. Jade.

Treestandman You are right I did not even think about it showing your location. I am sure we will see them somtime. Thanks for the story . Now you need to get a couple of speed loaders for you 357 and you should be set for the kill.

I wouldn't mind seeing a picture of both your handgun and for sure the lion. So get with ith it and share with us.

Work never mind I don't want to play anymore. I thought hunting was just driving out looking at a bunch of deer and shooting one and then going home. The funny thing is I know a gold prospector that has found a GPS wired under his truck by somebody wanting to find his nugget placer location. I have my own work cut out for me this year I have 7 couse tags I have to try and fill. They are all first time couesers so all they want is a buck so it will not be overly hard work. Plus my own so I will be trying to just keep up with my self this year. I hope you get your big buck , Bear, elk, And lion this year. Anyone that puts time in the field like you seem to will find some great trophies to hunt. I do look forward to all the pictures top be posted after the hunts are over with. I did fallow the gps cords from my unit under your truck. We will keep it our secret as to were you have been going in your truck though. Just joking everyone. see ya in the field some time. -

GMM I will be by tonight to get my GPS unit from under your truck. I have it tied up under there. See you in the feild. HAHAHA It has been done before . -
I would like to apologize to the site members. I fill that by using names and linking those names to a criminal act was not the right thing to do. I am having Amanda remove the posts I have made on this topic. I do not know for sure what happend in the topic we are talking about and I was not there to witness it. It is moraly wrong for me to talk about the hunters involved. Thank you.

.270 That is the one I was thinking about I thought that CHD said something about it being called operation navajo buck. Yes Ryan Hatch has that reputation I have heard him called shootem when you see them hatch. He does know where toi find them though. I do not know him either but a friend of mine does and said he did not know where to stand on that whole thing. That is why I stoped in my other post because I did not have all the facts. I did just find the article in the trophy hunter mag. It could be a bit biased though. I will read it more and see what it says. Thank you for the info .270
-
Isn't this the same trouble that Ryan Hatch was in I have the case here at the house I will find it and read it again. I know alot of it was thrown out of court. Like Ryan being paid to guide on the res. His pay was a lunch at taco bell. so you see what I mean about it was thrown out of court. I know there was some fees that had top be paid. And one guy lost a plane or somthing like that. I will stop what I am saying until I read it again. I do not want to be writing lies on here. Or writing things I do not know for sure.

.270 thanks for the update on primos I am glad to see they still fill the same way as we do.
