Just wanted to reach out and say that if any houndsmen need a place to keep their dogs I have plenty of room with SOME spare houses if you need to evac and dont know what to do. No house but you can set up a camper right there and have your dogs there and be safe till things pass. No just an offer for the Woodbury fire but any that happen. I have a small puppy pen already set up but just wanted to throw it out there if anyone needs a place. Property is big enough for horses or mules too but there is no fencing so that may hinder that unless you bring panels. Send me a message if you need a place for you and your dogs.

Any houndsmen need help or a place due to fires?
Nikki.AWHounds replied to Nikki.AWHounds's topic in The Campfire
It's the least I can do. Lots of folks have helped me a long the way. And I have been there. It's a scary thing... theres honestly enough room out there that if they and their dogs could all behave theres prolly room for 10-12 or more hound guys to set up a good old camp out there and be pretty safe from just about everything. It's not the Ritz but my dogs and I have been out there for years and it's my favorite place in the world. It's where I would go if Show Low got evacuated like it pretty much did last year. -
I posted a new thread but in case it gets overlooked. I have a big chunk of property that can be used for any houndsmen who need a place to get them and their dogs out of there or anywhere that has an evac order open and they dont really know where else to go. I say houndsmen because the property is not really suited for anything else. Horses or mules would need to be in corrals but it's still got some houses and chains for Hounds. I have spare houses around though that we could make it work. Theres prolly 25 t posts already pounded so all we would need is chains and we can figure out houses as we go but if anyone needs to get them and their dogs outta Dodge let me know. It's not much but it's better then trying to camp and move every 14 days lol.

Aww I was going through old pics the other day (crying of coarse) and I saw pics of her and was wondering how she was doing. She was the sweetest dog. I'm so glad that she found a great family. If you're ever up here with her let me know. Would love to see the ol gal. -

Thank you. This isnt something I'm taking lightly. The Hounds have been my life, my whole life. But things have gotten pretty hard since losing my dad 10 years ago and I know he had to make tough decisions with the dogs for his family too. First time I've had to do it and it's been really really hard. I just hope they can go together and can go to someone who can keep me posted on them and also love them and appreciate them like I do. These dogs with the exception of Dead-Pool go back to dogs my dad had 40+ year ago. So it's really hard to see them go. But I know deep in my heart it's what needs to happen. It's been a great ride I'll say that. Couldnt imagine any other way of living and growing up. -

All PMs have been replied to. Have had a lot of interest in them. Once the dogs and gear sells I will have a 1989 Mazda B2600i LX pickup for sale. Truck will be priced to sell. It is an extended cab with sunroof, 2 dents in the entire thing, very low miles for the year (less then 8000/year put on it). A few months ago I drove the truck from Show Low to El Paso TX and back the next day and never had an issue. Actually made as good of timing there and back as my Previous 05 and 08 V6 Tacomas and did better on gas. 4wheel drive works AMAZING in the truck. Handles the bumps and washboard better then my Tacomas did. It's honestly just a bad little hunting truck. Hate to see it go but I'm ready for a new chapter in my life so when the dogs and gear goes the truck needs to go too. Thank you everyone for the interest and support. -

I have a dog box for sale. This one is for a full size truck, rides the rails of the bed so would need major conversions to be used for a flatbed. We had it in a 97 Dodge Cummins Long Bed with Toolbox. Box is heavy and is best loaded with two people or not taken out very often. Holds a lot of dogs inside and on the rig. Last time I checked all hardware worked good, but we have not used this box in at least 4 years maybe longer. Box does NOT have a divider despite having the two doors. I dont remember if it had one and we took it out or what but it does not have a divider. Box is located in Show Low AZ. Unable to deliver so pickup would be required. If interested send me a PM. Price is $300

Thanks everyone. Lots of walkin to get to those ones lol. Been fun though. Thanks man. I missed a good one of her yesterday. Sound asleep under the tree with a little mule deer shed under 1 paw, whole body trying to cover an elk, and the spike dead head next to her.

Dexamethasone (used for snake bites), multi tool for removing quills, cactus, thorns. Bailing twine (many uses including making a muzzle). Staple gun, sutures, super glue, benadryl, antibiotics in pill form (cephalexin and penicillin are the best). Syringes with the needles, ace bandage, gauze, soap (I keep a real small bottle of the blue Dawn Dish soap). Scalples or a havalon or havalon blades. A wash rag, rubber gloves, bottle of water, and it may sound strange but sardines in soybean oil, I've saved lots of dogs by feeding them that and it replenishes them and helps them heal, can also be used for giving meds peacefully. Double U Hunting Supply at www.dudupply.com has premade ones, that are real nice. Most of my stuff is hand me down from my dad and stuff that I have added to but the stuff I listed is the stuff that I use the most and that if i dont need it, i find someone on the mountain who needs it. Check the surplus stores, i have a navy medical kit that i carry in my pack, and its helped my dogs and even myself more then anything. Nothing worse then being miles from the truck and dogs getting into a situation and wishing you had the stuff.

Found a knife on Sunday in unit 1. It is pretty unique so whoever lost it should be able to identify it pretty easy. If you lost a knife in unit 1 send me a message describing it and I'll let you know if it is yours or not. Thanks. -Nikki.

This is the first year this has been in effect. It is also the first year in a while a lot of these areas have had snow. So it is going to close. It's always been 1 lion per year except where the precious sheep live in multi kill units. There are some things with the new changes that need to be changed yes. But killing ALL lions is BS. Just like everything else, it's important to follow the laws on this. The more we as hunters get involved with lion sightings, like the one I responded to today in a closed unit, the more we can work WITH game and fish instead of against them to make proper changes.

🤣🤣🤣 poverty beer. I dont drink that nasty crap. That's one that was left in my truck from a friend. I keep beer on hand and he keeps Snickers on hand, when one of us acts up we throw the appropriate cure at the other 🤣🤣 it's been snowing all day here but like I said the neighbor might have a foot more then us here. This neighborhood is whackadoodle like that.

Hardly got squat at my house in Lakeside. It varies from house to house it seems like. Was expecting more but kinda glad it's not as bad as they were saying. And no, that's not a tall boy. Just a regular nasty bud light lol

Dang I didnt hear that one last night. Crazy. -
Just an FYI Lion Management Zone 4 which includes units 7E, 7W, 9, 10, and 11M will close Wednesday Feb 20. The AZ Mountain Lion Hotline Phone number is 18774380447. Same one used to report harvest, and just like bear it will go through closed units/zones before the reporting part starts. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Lots and lots of snow on the way.
