I finally took my cameras down and here is what I missed. Unfortunately, this was taken from my afternoon stand and this buck showed up at 10 AM when I wasn't there. Enjoy, Darren PS - Casey, sorry I didn't call you. I ended up running out quickly so I could be back for a committment at noon.

My brother-in-law asked me to post pictures of a lion kill he found. Enjoy,

Here is one I took earlier this summer just north of flagstaff. Enjoy,

Grossed right at 90"

Thanks. Weller's in Tucson. They do great work!

Donnie, I'm with you on that. Three year hiatus after drawing a tag. It assures that no one draws back to back tags, and it would remove several applicants from the draw pool increasing the odds for others.

Josh, Awesome! I knew that little guy was born to find antlers! Watch out, pretty soon he will be finding more than you.
-
Nice set, congrats! I would guess: R = 145 L = 143 Total = 288 w/o spread
-
I couldn't resist.

Lawsons! I have had glass bedding, trigger, barrel crowning, etc. Excellent!

Josh, Awesome! Thanks for the post.

Thanks. I have a lease that I hunt every year just south of Sheffield, Texas (~250 mi. W of San Antonio).

DotShot, Nice buck, congrats! What state, if you don't mid the question? Thanks,

Younghunter, I had the 4.5-14 Conquest on my .300 win mag. It shot fine, but in about a year of time some particles have broken down inside the scope causing small black specks across the entire field of view. It still shoots fine, it is just miserable to look through. It could be an isolated instance; however, I have switched to Leupold VXIII 4.5-14 with BC reticle exclusively. My vote, having used both, is the Leupold. Hope that helps.

Jennifer Martin Commission Nomination
dds replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
To be honest, I have not done enough research personally to decide one way or the other; however, I do know that the NRA is supporting the nomination. Here is an excerpt from the NRA. "Dear Arizona NRA Member, Governor Napolitano has nominated Jennifer Martin to the commission. She is a former Game & Fish Department employee, with a background in wildlife biology. In interviews with NRA officials she has expressed her support for expanding hunting opportunities, protecting and developing new shooting ranges, and has an extensive knowledge of the issues facing Arizona's sportsmen. The commission oversees all hunting policy, and manages numerous shooting ranges in Arizona. This is a critical appointment to hunters and gun owners in Arizona. The people who sit on the commission are very important to the future of hunting and the shooting sports in Arizona. Your NRA supports the Governor's nomination and encourages you to call your State Senator today and ask him or her to support the confirmation of Jennifer Martin to the Arizona Game & Fish Commission. You can find out who your senator is by calling 1-800-352-8404. Also please contact the members of the Arizona Senate Natural Resources Committee and tell them you are a hunter and a sportsman and you support Jennifer Martin's nomination." I am only hopeful that hunters benefit. Hope this helps. Thank you, -
Casey, Congrats man! Sorry I missed you this weekend.

Dan, I like the idea. Any thoughts on rules, especially with consistent scoring of non-typical antlers and such?

Shiras, Congrats on picking up a shed! As far as spread goes, there is no way of really knowing what the true measurement was (is). I just go off of the look of the pedicle and brow tine, if present to make an estimation. It helps if you hold it up to another skull or mount. Hope that clarifies.

I went out in the afternoon yesterday to take some photos and to let my youngest shoot his B-b gun. I was surprised when I came across this nice set, 98" with a twelve inch spread. Enjoy,
-
Wade, No doubt, thanks!
-
Well, not quite. Antlerboy taught me how to put things on a rock to take pictures. LOL! I think Amanda will post a picture in the find the shed section soon.

Well, I was waiting patiently for my new camera to arrive via UPS this morning. I checked the tracking page every hour, and then my wife called to let me know that we had missed the delivery (no one home to sign). I hurried home to get the slipped left at the door and drove around my neighborhood franticly looking for the UPS truck. I had just given up and was pulling in to park when I saw the driver. I flagged him down so I could get my package. While he was pulling the box out he said something about "the Dentist," which confused me because even though that is my nickname nothing about this package would have led him to know that. I asked the driver what he was referring to and he stated that there was this guy on CouesWhitetail with the same name that went by DDS. Amazed, I answered, "that's me!" As it turns out the driver was Wade, or WKLMAN, also a CouesWhitetail member! I was excited to have met someone from CW again. Thanks Amanda for this community! Anyway, small world, all revolving around CouesWhitetail.
