Thank you. Yeah it is definitely a tough hunt but I would do it again. I didn't get to hunt it the number of days I wanted to because of other priorities, and my buddy having to go back to work. But I had fun.

Nobody, they just made it sound like you could go the entire hunt without seeing a deer. It was just a generalized comment, not an absolute. Instead of pointing out my comment I thought you would post back asking how it went, what did I think of the units, did I see any other game, what I thought about all the blue flags and beacons. I am going to put in for it again next year. Have to get my bow ready now so I can go stick another Coues out of one of my tree stands. Oh yeah, did you see my muley I shot in New Mexico? A solo hunt. God was smiling on me that day.

Haven't had time to put the video together but contrary to some comments there are bucks in there and big ones at that. I glassed a nice 4x4 about 3/4 of a mile away but lost him when I closed the distance to around 375 yards. I did not have a person to spot for me to let me know which way he went. This is a difficult hunt but not impossible like some made it out to be. If you are the type that gets easily discouraged because you are not seeing deer every day and you don't like hiking more than a mile from your vehicle this hunt is not for you.

Hey man I'll help you, ignore the rude people that state they hope no one helps you. I've hunted here 42 years and guided at one point before wife at that time put the kibosh on it. I just hunted New Mexico for mule deer and the wildlife manager helped me out, I shot the biggest mule deer in all my years of hunting, have shot dozens of Coues along with my daughter in AZ. I could not scout in New Mexico becuse of a special needs dependant I care for, its hard enough just to get away to hunt. No one knows your circumstance and why you cannot come out to scout. Maybe we could do some trading, I'd love to hunt Oklahoma, but i like you dont have the luxury like some to drive to another state to scout. Send me a PM and if you have help, good luck and God bless.

Ok, my New Mexico solo 2024 mule deer hunt is in the books, link to story coming soon. Now for the 46A, and B hunt. We went scouting and saw a medium sized 3 x 3 the first evening on the Cabeza, and a large bobcat. We really didn't glass a whole lot we were just trying to get familiar with the roads as we didn't have a whole lot of time. I'm sure if we had spent more time glassing we would have found more deer. We do have an area picked out for opening morning.
