Anyone know the family washed away in Tonto Basin?
AZBIG10 replied to PRDATR's topic in The Campfire
Happy to hear of this. I pray for this family. -
If he was a loner it would be difficult to follow up with acquaintances. Similar to the couple in tonto basin that were tracked down. i would assume this character to be narcissistic. I don’t think this type can Off themselves. i was not aware off all of the cabes near the rim. Any pics of the areas?

Mystery Ranch, Kuiu, Stone Glacier, Exo, or Kifaru Pack
AZBIG10 replied to lancetkenyon's topic in Other Hunting Gear
I have a 5200 and 1850 w/ the cargo attachment if you wanted to give them a look over and try the sizing. Have the pro and regular frames as well. Tall frame L waist I have an MR it is MIA until after the upcoming Carlos Hunt. if I had to pick one. I’d do MR for Durability. the kuiu system is great as Coach mentioned above. I just spent 10 days with my 5200 for a rifle hunt. And will attach the 1850 for calling coyotes and January archery deer. -
Got dam

After hand calling my first lion in and missing with my pistol.. I dropped off into the canyon below and found a string running accross a wash with really small bones tied every few feet on it. It was about 6’ In height running across maybe 15 feet.

That buck is giant! Good job and I’m happy you made it out alive! Well done. Happy hunting
-
Negative. I plan on making my way up there before the hunt ends.

Lost my target buck to a dang ol lion. Haven’t been able to turn up my plan b buck. I have heard of a buck chasing a doe. Hope the Rut kicks in for the next rifle hunt!
-
Given the magnitude of that tag I can only imagine the gut wrenching feeling you had as the events unfolded of the mishap.I know a handful of very respectable hunters that have self reported from mistakes in the field. I am happy this mishap didn’t poison the experience and I hope you can look back it this hunt and only have fond memories of time spent in the field. Hats off to you and congrats on a successful hunt.

I’m being literal. Try finding a kaibab cape. I would rather have that than the meat. Only because I like coues best for table fair.
-
you Should set up a go fund me to raise money to buy the buck. I’m not sure how much they go for. I would pitch in for the cause. Too bad you couldn’t keep the cape too.

Same for coues! I almost sat water in November because they weren’t wandering too far from water. Now they are dispersed a bit. Hope the rain continues for them

Nice Rig! GLWS

DesertSheep your humor kills me. You are welcome in our camp anytime! Congrats on a lifetime buck. I have had the pleasure of watching my girlfriend (at the time who is now my wife) knock down a big buck and it is one of my most memorable outings! Congratulations! Are you getting it mounted?
-
Can I get a shout out? I think it’s a cool buck.

Going to save 20 bucks in ice! Gonna be chilly
