  1. Krp, nobody is arguing that game and fish doesnt have expos or youth programs. This isnt the discussion. The problem is educating the 70 percent of the public that has no idea how much hunting contributes to conservation. Game and Fish is very limited in what they can say.
  2. Delw, you don't have to support any type of tag. That's why this conversation is taking place. So those that oppose can strategize other types of funding. Idgaf, oh, a few deer, a turkey. And one governors tag bighorn.
  3. What the question is too hard for you? you said ". I'm here to strategize with those interested in finding funding solutions for the proposed Game and Fish outreach plan. And like I've stated several times, but apparently it's in invisible ink,." but yet you have no clue what your strategizing and or for whom? you sound pretty wishy washy since you started posting. as far as me and conservation BLOW ME you have no clue oh, I have more than a clue. You're just angry that someone is doing something you didn't think of. You aren't going to support anything that isn't your idea. Well guess what, lots of sportsmen want this education plan in place, and they even want raffle tags. Maybe not auction tags, and I'm cool with that. For your offer in your last sentence, get Ringer to do it, hes used to it.
  4. I don't know who thought of it, and like you said, I don't care. I just know it wasn't you, so don't worry, your staunch record of doing absolutely nothing for conservation isn't in Jeapordy.
  5. COA, again, good ideas. These ideas need to be unified and on paper.
  6. again, i dont speak for CAPAZ and Im not a member of CAPAZ. You have to ask them those questions. With all due respect, this is like the 5th time ive explained that. I like your questions and I too am interested in the answers. I don't know who that is in my Avatar. Its just on ongoing joke on my page. I found the image by doing a Google image search for "rhinestone cowboy." I tell people thats the last known photo of my dad.
  7. i dig what you're saying. I have concerns as well. So let's talk about possible funding strategies and get moving on it.
  8. Delw. There is a very good article posted a few pages back on some States that have implemented a systemic education plan to the public. When this occurs,it makes it very difficult for anti hunting groups to deceive the public with lies like "trophy hunting ". It is an effective strategy. Currently, HSUS is engaged in not only massive media propaganda, but actually going into classrooms and engaging our children. We need to combat that. We are facing a serious decline in hunter participation. We have lost several million hunters over a time frame that has also seen veganism rise by 600 percent. Game and Fish cannot do this type of outreach with Pittman Robertson funds. They need a seperate funding source and legislation has to be written. So I dont give a crap if we have a bake sale or auction off a few tags. You don't want to auction off tags? Cool, I can get on board with that. I really don't care. But we do need to push on with this plan.
  9. I'm not here for my group. I'm here to strategize with those interested in finding funding solutions for the proposed Game and Fish outreach plan. And like I've stated several times, but apparently it's in invisible ink, I'm on board with auction tags or no auction tags.
  10. Do you blame people fo rworrying about the characters involved? Ive seen plently of progress made in these threads by quite a few guys IDGF is one of them. how ever it may not be the progress you want. show me in any of my posts where i have stated what kind of progress I want. I'll wait.
  11. Lot's of paranoia from some of you. Still haven't made any progress on the topic.
  12. Delw, the info on what went down with CAPAZ has been stated on this thread. They also told everyone at last Mondays meeting how it came about. And I know better than to offer you my phone number, because I dont want to end up like DWRAT, getting my stuff put on Craigslist while im in the middle of a poker game.
  13. Nefarious - I gotta say that you're a passionate hombre! Clearly, you've dedicated yourself to our common cause and that is appreciated. The groups we are being attacked by are a special breed and it certainly appears to me at least, that you match up well my man! Lol.. And I mean zero disrespect as I say that. That approach on the streets and while confronting petitioners goes over just about as well here on this forum as it does there with those petitioners... I would encourage you do try a new cologne and few less actions on the pumper if you're going to garner support from anyone that is less than 150% in line with your take. azdirtytaco, lots of things went on behind the scenes. As I've said, I can provide you with some very pertinent information. But we have to talk offline for a bit. I can p.m. you my number.
  14. Anybody? yes, that would be political. You can, of course, hand out any material you see fit. We have a group dedicated to doing just that. If you send me a p.m. we can talk about other stuff.
  15. First off Delw, as I have stated, I'm not a part of CAPAZ. But they did bail us out on the mountain lion ban, even though you will not acknowledge it, and attribute it ti angry emails from hunters. As if the biggest anti hunting organization in the U.S. spent millions on the ban, then decided to quit because of angry emails. Second, you are underestimating sportsman support on this. There is a world outside of a few angry voices on this thread. What is going to end up happening is we are going to continue to fight amongst ourselves, and we all are going to lose. Finally, my group is dedicated to fighting HSUS. We owe it to ourselves and to CAPAZ to listen to their proposals and give our input. And if we can do what we need to do without auction tags, I'm all for it.
  16. Bruce, I can only mention the P and R funds. I don't know about the particulars of any other law, so I cant offer any input. As far as the fee raise idea, that has been looked into. I think Game and Fish is nominally against it, because they just did a lot of hard work to lower the fees. I tend to agree with the stamp or tag fee. I don't know how much it would bring in, but add some raffle tags, my opinion is we would do pretty good.
  17. it's the funding game and fish needs to engage in the type of outreach needed to engage the uninformed public about hunters role in wildlife conservation. They can't do it with current funding methods, by law. And there are no auction tags. It was just one idea offered to the public. They are looking for input from sportsmen on these ideas.
  18. i dont necessarily believe auction tags are the solution. I'd personally like to explore other options to the funding. I support them in general because I think they would get the funding immediately. Also, CAPAZ does NOT get the tags. The tags are not for CAPAZ to engage in the political battles we need them to. The funds stay with Game and Fish.
  19. Idgaf, let's put it to rest, man. I'm here to help. I can p.m. you my phone number and we can talk offline.
  20. Short answer, yes. I'm still doing my homework on this whole issue. I hadn't heard about this issue until 10 hours prior to the meeting on Tuesday. There are so many conflicting statements and comments that sorting through them has been a bit overwhelming. But, since I've gone down that rabbit hole...... Just a few of the things I am looking into and would like answers to are: (Seems to be one of those deals that the more you dig, the more convoluted it becomes) How real is this threat? To what degree, if any, is fear-mongering playing a role in this latest ordeal? If there is, what is the reason and/or what is the ultimate goal? (Don't everyone scream "TAGS!!" at the same time) Who are the players and what sandbox have they played in before? (Yes, I understand that it's a very small group of individuals that appear on almost every board of every group out there) Where does G&F stand on this? If G&F feels they need 2M/year for education and can generate those funds in some way, do the donations for the political fight mysteriously vaporize? More info on what was provided by P.P. for the 250K? The last thing I want to do is judge or criticize people that are actually helping protect something that all of us on this forum enjoy. I also realize that politics, money and animals rolled into one, can make a pretty fascinating soap opera. are you on Facebook? I can give you some very real details about the threats and players from HSUS.
  21. swivelhead, that isn't what is going on. The suggested tag plan, and I say suggested because it is just that, leaves the funds with Game and Fish. And if you reread my posts, I'm all for taking auction tags off the table if we can find alternate funding. Some people here are just looking for an enemy, and I'm not your enemy at all.
  22. Please don't represent the hunting public of Arizona. Your not a good example and not very persuasive. whenever you want to step up and fill in, be my guest. You've done such a good job of doing absolutely nothing thus far.
  23. I'm glad some of you are unable to contribute anything constructive to the discussion, that you are now focusing on trivial things. Nefarious Red is my youtube channel name, adopted from an insult an anti hunter gave me when I was fighting to protect mountain lion hunting in Arizona.
  24. I don't generally bother with hunting websites. It's the same thing over and over, same people arguing amongst themselves for years. You can join Facebook and I will add you to our group, if it means that much to you. Other than that, you have my name and my youtube channel. Well this isn't just any ol hunting site there amigo. Us coues hunters share a special bond for what's best for us and Arizona. And you ain't it. So take your tag grabbing idea and shove it up your a$$. and you're the only one that hunts coues? My a$$, along with several others that share my ideas, was at bass pro on monday, you were more than welcome to do the shoving yourself, amigo. Pipe down with that nonsense.
