    Jim White Tripler-Review

Amanda, you have the Zeiss Classic 10x40's The older ones with the diopter where the tripod adapter should be! I think I saw a pic of yours and I have the same ones. I love them, use the velcro straps on the tripod, works fine. I wanted to confirm that you said the Jim White Tripler works with those binos? Thanks, Joe

    Coues Question

The deer will only stay where they are if you don't get drawn. Based on a lot of experience! The coues deer in my honeyholes have access to G&F websites I'm pretty sure.

    Unit 22 Elk

You guys are taking all the fun out of it. Scout your butt off and brag later about how you shot one in spite of all the hunters and start looking forward to having a tag. I would kill to have your problem. Good luck and don't wear any antler hats.

Hey Treestandman, if you happen to change your mind and decide to sell the 15's, I'm in.

C/W member says his card got hit

When are you guys seeing these charges. Was it all yesterday or has someone seen activity today? I am trying to hold out hope.

    Rude Awakening

That is priceless. You are officially hired as my guide for 6A in April. Please bring your sleeping bag. I'll furnish the donuts. UNBELIEVABLE!! I didn't even realize it was you at first, now that I know it's even funnier. Not sure why I bought decoys and a new call. Maybe I'll return em.

C/W member says his card got hit

Has anyone been hit today? And by the way did this whole dang site draw tags except for me? I am insanely jealous. Good luck to all who drew. I am afraid the party's over and no action on my card.

    Draw results are getting closer.

Hey HuntnCoues, what do you mean by they will reissue the ones that were rejected? I am not sure I understand. Of course now I too will be checking the checking acct. online every few minutes.

    Wanted: small bass boat

I have a 94 Tracker 17' Aluminum with a 90 HP Merc I have been considering selling. It is dry stored @ Roosevelt. Great shape, always serviced regularly. I love the boat, I just don't make it down there often as we have another boat and since we live in Flagstaff and the way Powell has been the last couple of years, we don't seem to drive anywhere else because we have all the smallies and Stripers we want 2 hours away. Looking at Boat Trader recently, I think I would ask $4,800.00. This boat is perfect for the desert lakes and with the 90 horse you can ski as well. Let me know if it sounds like what you are looking for, and I'll ask my wife if I'm allowed to sell it. Joe
  10. Wait minute, this much discussion over $50.00? Because they are going to raise it to extreme levels like they did with Big Game Tags was the worry some had. Do you really think a resident deer permit is extremely expensive? How about elk, antelope? I think there are far more important issues facing us than $50 a year to ride a quad.
  11. Hey everyone, I have been watching a lot of coues deer videos in anticipation of my Mexico hunt coming up. I would love to video the action and was wondering if anyone had advice on what kind of video camera for good results. I have a Sony probably run of the mill without enough zoom. I don't know the model, it works great for taping my daughter learn to crawl but I think I might have to upgrade to zoom on the coues!

    Swarovski 10x42 SLC

I can get them brand new for that much. I'm sorry I couldn't help it. That is a smokin deal. I would jump at it if I needed the best 10x binoculars in the world for a great price!!

    mexico hunting tags??

I am going for the first time day after xmas. I am told you need a gun permit even if you could use one down there. The reason is that it is difficult to bring the deer back without the gun permit and one of the tags. Price for the permit was $350 for us. Also, if you plan to bring the meat back, it must be frozen solid, no blood. All of this info is what I have been told. I won't have first hand experience until Dec 26, coming back on the 2nd of Jan. We are not going to attempt to bring any meat back, sounds too hard, we'll eat backstraps and leave the rest to the Ranch owner. Oh and P.S. you have good friends. Joe

    2006 Coues deer

He looks every bit of 94 to me! Congratulations, awesome deer. Which unit were you hunting, if you don't mind me asking. If you do, just ignore me.

    Treestandman - Accident!

I have fallen out of one as well, I was a lot luckier. Get well soon, make someone build you an awesome ground blind.

    Shooting Contest

My best groups are always one shot groups. Even out to 500yds. I have found trying to group more than one to be very challenging. It's way easier to shoot the deer with the first bullet.
  18. What would you guys guess the score on that one? WOW, I am trying to look at as many as possible so I don't shoot EL Pequeno instead of MUY GRANDE in Mexico.

    Nice Coues buck

Wow monstercoues I am honored to be able to respond to the only guy who pays attention to the law! It's true you should call GFD but let's not go overboard here, you're not posting to a bunch of poachers, most of the replies simply stated that coming back for it after the critters got to it awhile wouldn't be a big deal and I agree. The paralysis of overanalysis seems to have taken place pardner. Oh and I think the only way you could get 3 felony charges for having a deer head is if he failed to mention it was full of crack and he had warrants!

    A great hunt.

Congratulations! That is a great buck. I shot a 3 point with no eyeguards this year as well. When I say none, I mean not even a bump! Didn't realize it before I shot, although I would have shot anyhow. I am convinced that any coues buck is quite a trophy. I can't stop jumping on this site, I have a Mexico hunt starting day after Xmas and I can't stand the wait anymore! Thanks for all of the great posts and pics everybody, you are helping me stay a little bit sane! I have an addiction, but I refuse to acknowledge it as a problem!!

    Boots

Ditto on the Vasque Sundowners. Absolutely incredible. Mine are finally through and I am simply going to buy another pair. They take awhile to break in though. I am going to Mexico day after Xmas so I bought a pair of Danners that look to be easy to break in. So far so good. Anyone who buys Vasque Sundowner will not be disappointed. Joe

    Kaibab

Too funny, my wife says the same thing. I got a 80" in 34A in the October hunt. Good luck to you. I am going to Mexico day after Xmas for the first time. My wife can't understand why I would pay so much money to try to hunt the same deer I have harvested in AZ 3 years straight for next to nothing. I don't understand why we need to remodel a perfectly good kitchen. Lots of luck to you on your hunt, it's gotten very tough in 34A

    Nice Coues buck

Ernesto, 60 inches??!! I hope you missed the 9 key I would guess 85-90 on the score, but I wouldn't overanalyze whether or not it's ok to pick up the skull. I would caution you though that the critters may have taken him far from where you saw him if you didn't anchor him. I too will take any heads wired to trees and then post to see whose it was! Ok I won't I just thought that was funny when I read it. Go find it and boil it!

    Kaibab

Awesome! Congratulations, sounds like your wife is one helluva shot. That's a great buck, make sure she realizes the coues variety is a little bit smaller target, that is a toad!! Joe

    Randy Ulmer Hunting Accident?

I have to agree with coues7 here, although it seems you are all spinning your wheels, no pun intended! It comes down to a personal choice on what crosses the line. Personally, I think it stacks the deck in a hunter's favor a little too much for me to want to use it. I think it would be hard for me to admire a huge buck on my wall and recall the time I flew up to where he lived 2 days earlier and knew exactly where to start looking, especially coues deer with their very small homerange. I cannot understand those who keep stating there is a lot more to it than knowing where the deer was 2 days prior. You are masters of the obvious. Of course there's more to it, some of us happen to think you have narrowed your to do list to relocate and shoot! If that's your perogative then go for it. Those of us against the chute planes just think it takes the fun and the challenge away. Joe
