Your dads a poacher and a liar, your brother is a poacher, liar and thief . . . How far from the tree did you fall? Hopefully that sheep is cleaner than that poached muley. My dad is a poacher ? You have no idea who my father is . Let me tell you a few things about my dad ! My parents have been married for 42 years . My father is one of the most amazing men on this planet ! They broke the mold with him . I have heard my dad cuss one time in his life and he said dang (is that even a cuss word ) ? My father is very active in his church and has has some of the highest calling there are . He is a school board member , fire board member and a well respected member of the community. So to say he is a poacher and a lair couldn’t be farther from the truth ! O yeah another thing my father taught me was not to shoot a 300 bull on a 3c hunt . Its a shame that the religious community that has "Higher CALLINGS" tends to as a group not see the dark side of some of their members because said member do and say all the right things. If you look good, say the right things and glad hand everyone then there can be no wrong there right? NOT SAYING that this is the case here, just saying appearing as a "good sort" within your church means very little.

Hunting is not a sport, for me it is a living ritual "The Fall Ritual Hunt" celebrating where we came from. Its a blessing we live in the land of the free with enough wild open country to pursue our passion for the "Hunt". Over focusing on your Trophy Kills leads to a missing the whole point. The wild lands and the wildlife we pursue deserve some respect, this means don't cut corners or focus on killing just so you can brag. Evidently we are discussing the downside to this blind drive to show off.

Anyone here go to the AZ Long Range PRS Matches?
AZAV8ER replied to PowellSixO's topic in The Campfire
The reason I chose the 7 SAUM, is because it's my least recoiling rifle that shoots .5 moa, has a decent tactical scope on it, and wouldn't be a chore to carry around. I do have a Howa 1500 Hogue 243 Winchester that would be a LOT cheaper to reload for, that I could use in the Production Division. It doesn't have a great scope on it though. I did change the bottom metal on the rifle too, so it would accept ATI magazines. Would this prevent me from competing in the Production Division? Thanks for the tips and pointers too by the way. Edited: ATI Bottom Metal and Mags, not AICS. I get that and the scope with tactical turrets is pretty much a must. A 243 would be nice with right weight rifle and appropriate scope. You will have fun and get to workout your 7mm at some yardage. If you want PM me if any more questions. Yep caliber MV limits are to save wear and tear on the steels. I would have to look at rules again but production does no allow much modification, meant for off the shelf precision rifles like Ruger Precision Rifle or Howas offering that have MSRP less than 2K. -

Way more gun than needed, but it will work. I shot my first match with my 270 Sendero, What I learned was more gun than needed, lots 6.5C or 6mmC thereabouts, even 223. Muzzle break helps to stay on longer targets so follow up shots don't waste time reacquiring. Also shot strings can be up to ten rounds and timed so DBM is a very nice to have. Stages vary from shooting at 150 yds positional, to stage with 1000/800/600/400 yard shots. You could bring rear bag rest/squeeze sock, ballistic calculator/APP, a way to get wind, temp, pressure or density altitude for your ballistic APP. Or just make a drop card out to 1400 yards. So far longest shot has been 1400 yards. Its a good group of shooters and happy to help out, so show up have fun. 1 Ballistic drop table or ballistic calculator out to 1400 yards 2 Rear bag and front support bags, other shooters share if you need anything like this 3 Plan to shoot prone, offhand, sitting, kneeling and over or through other barriers/obstacles 4 For multirange long range stage a way to read or present your dope for different yardages so you can dial your scope hold The groupe is good with welcoming new shooters. -
Its no longer Media its the "PPP" Preponderant Perpetrator of Propaganda" MSM out PPP in

What weight draw are you shooting? I hunted one year with a recurve and decided spot and stalk with a round ball BP muzzleloader was more fun.

How close is too close to set up and glass? Deer eyesight question
AZAV8ER replied to broadhead's topic in Coues Biology
I am generally glassing out to 600-1000 yards while at the same time great country/cover at 50 to 300 yards. Best to be backstopped by cover, in the shade and quiet in sound and body movement. Move hands slowly turn your head slowly and no talking and sitting. Have had bucks just feed out of cover in front of me several times at 50 to 70 yards out. Or just move through at 100 to 200 out. -
LOL I have been hunting this general region since 1977. As of late (a decade at least) the grazing has been almost nil, getting sick and tired of tall grass leaving seeds and junk in my pockets. Had to go to high top boots for all the dry grass, weed seeds and other grassy litter getting into my low boots.

I'm 100% with Flatlander. I've tried a couple of light weight tripods and got rid of them all. You don't need to go crazy, but a little weight is good in a tripod. My tripod/head setup comes in right at 4 pounds and I'll happily pack every ounce of it for what it gives me. Never have I felt that my lighter tripod was unstable.

I have been using a Vanguard Espod 233CB, its nice, light and holding up well. Its a carbon fiber model they don't make anymore, dang shame. The closest thing they have to it now is Vanguard Alta+ 233AO only 1.6 lbs 57 inch high. Don't stand to glass so this size tripod works great and easy to pack, also works to shoot over when you pop binos off Swarovski Universal Tripod Adaptor.
-
If you don't need the extra height at full extension the Alta+ 233AO is only 1.6lbs and several Ten spots less. I have been hunting with a Vanguard carbon fiber tripod like the 233AO (they don't have it anymore) and love it,

35b only went up to 65. Still not like in the last 20 years the deer numbers have gone up much to notice. -

Anyone know case water capacities for different .270 Win brass?
AZAV8ER replied to nw07heavy's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I was looking for uniformity and durability information, as well as max capacity, if it is more than very slight. Norma would be as good as Lapua brass. I have RE-26 for 140's and 150's, and am getting RE-16 for 130's. I understand these new Alliant powders are super in the .270 Win. Thanks H4831 has been very good for me with 140's. -
Calf stretching is what flared my foot pain out of nowhere. I quit stretching and it took 6-9 months to settle down. That was 15 years ago, lots of hiking, hunting no calf stretches and pain free.

How long ago did you run your comparison? I am new to this whole app ballistic thing and have Strelok at this time. This SUN it just gave me dead center hit at 800 yards, have also been comparing it to my printed JBM drop chart. Maybe I am lucky maybe they updated Strelok? Any thoughts?

I have used Winchester brass with great success, that is until about two years ago also bought cases that had cracks dents etc generally horrible looking qualities. Not sure which way to go now. -
"They want tags for a very select few" OK I must not be up to speed, who are "they"? Tell me who "the select few" refers to? SFW and their cronies? USO? Way to many acronyms, way to abbreviated discussion (if its that important don't be so abbreviated you become cryptic). Tag auctions might best be reserved for ELK, Sheep, Turkey or Deer (etc) conservation.
