I don't get the bumpstock angst. Did you feel your right to own an AR with a 30round mag was diminished because you can't get a bumpstock? Are bumpstocks accuracy or long range enhancers? To me they re a gimmick pointless to ban and not worth trading political capitol to fight for. Maybe more jawboning about how it was a gimmick that did not make anything more dangerous and that ANTIS were just show boating. I do not feel our 2A rights were in anyway diminished by this silly ban.

I like that AZ has a draw for each species with 5 hunt choices. Last I used UT you got I application that you had to put your choices on Deer, Elk once in a lifetime, that's the part I did not like.

I am full up on 270win rifles and this is tempting.
-
Just bought a pair of similar in 12X very nice glass and a good upgrade from my 10X Zeiss classics. I would rate these as good as and better than Zeiss classics.
-
I grew up in AZ and I recall the draw started in mid 70's. Then life happened and I ended working and rasing a family up in Utah. Utah went to a a limited entry tag type F-upped system to spread out hunt pressure. Then Colorado had to reign in their tags hunt pressure. I tell you the AZ system is far better than all the others out west. I have used it as a resident & non resident and compared to CO and UT I love the AZ system. BTW my 28 year old son took his first buck in 35B last year as a non resident, that makes three generations of AZ hunters with his success for us.

????????? No goof there. Like our Union President told us one year, membership & participation count. Simple and cheap just be a member and give $10 a year to NRA-ILA. High rates of participation in PAC donations by membership counts a lot with politicians and does not matter how much you gave just that you did. NRA or another 2A rights group gets more clout if they can say "100% of membership gave $ to our PAC". One thing politicians respect is $. whatever your beef with NRA they are still a big player in the 2A rights arena. Heck also join and donate $ to a second 2A group kinda like voting twice. Always Always be a HAPPY WARRIOR for your RIGHTS

So everything has been good till just last fall, OCT? Is the ammo the same lot # ? Have you shot up all the ammo from last fall and still having the issue with ammo bought more recently? You clean your rifle regularly so that's not and issue, maybe your rifle just happened to get built on the tighter side of spec's and ammo lot was a little to much powder or bullet runout a touch on long side and you are getting pressure spike??? Have you tried new box ammo, different lot # ?
-
Could be your load is right on the pressure border. When the third round sits in the chamber and powder gets warmed up then you get pressure over the line and stick the bolt. Thats a guess for what might be occurring.

Several wilderness areas in 23 Sierra Ancha Wilderness up hi and a couple wilderness on the west side a little lower. You could run into rain and a very off chance of snow that time of year. Then it could also be warmish just don't know till its gets there.

Ok from what I read on the Spanish Mauser page, is that if its 8X57mm then it was converted from 7mm to 8mm by the Spanish. I could not find anything about shooting these rifles or loading for them. Spain also converted a lot of 7mm to 7.62 and those do not sound like you want to fire full loaded 7.62 NATO or 308 in them. Not sure what you could sell it for.
-
Looks like Spanish Mauser MOD 1916. They were originally 7X57 and in 1943 Spain converted them to 8X57. Pictures of the top of the receiver and left side would help.
-
The L C stamp in the wood behind the tang screw could be "La Crona" arsenal stamp
-
The straight stock, turned down bolt and sling mounts on the side do not appear to be German issue configuration. Have you shot it, meaning do you know for sure its 8X57mm?
-
Looking more like a MOD 1916 Spanish Mauser. Google "Spanish Mauser Home Page" see if that is what it is.
-
what are the marks on the top of the receiver? Is it a Mauser made in Germany? A Mauser variant chambered in 8X57mm?
-
No its been a while since I have had it out shooting.

Price drop $540 for rifle base and rings

Very good deal and a nice tripod. I just bought one last week 😬

Appreciate the thought but I meant to spell "wooves". From what reading I have done the disease is spread in the feces and urine and when winter herds gather in thicker densities on limited range the chance of contamination goes up.
-
My perspective is dated. Last I was aware CWD was more in WY and CO. Some but not a whole lot in UT. A lot of low density deer populations between S AZ and CWD heard's. One good thing about wooves is that they take down the sick fast and spread out the deer slowing the disease propagation.

this reminds me of my first Javi hunt around Camp Reno in 1966. It rained like this the whole weekend. i recall some guy parked his jeep off the side of the dirt road and the ground was so soft it sunk to its axels and frame. My old man used the winch on the front of our Land Cruiser to pull him out.

Had a chance recently to compare Meopta 12X50's to Vortex Razors and Swaro EL's. Meopta's enough better than Vortex to spend the extra $200 for & Swaro's are better but at DOUBLE the $?? Nope not that much better.

Who is Jay Scott? I have only been here a year or so.
