What caliber and how many rounds fired to get this degradation?
-
Has anyone here ever shot out a 270? If so how many rounds did it last? By shot out I mean from near MOA/sub MOA to over 1.4 MOA.
-
I am not experiencing a problem just wanting to set parameters. For some shot out is going from .3 MOA to over .7 MOA.

What? Is he looking to save the endangered S AZ Grizzly Bears? He must be hoping to get PR and tree hugger $$$$ out of this.

OK so advertised organized killing contests are out, too bad so sad. But you and your buds are free to go out park your trucks and agree to whatever contest you cook up right then and there and get to still blast away at yotes. Not seeing a problem. Defending "killing for fun contests" is a whole different thing than defending predator control. The contests have a whole negative optic that just hard to defend.

A wire mesh fence? Three strand barbed wire wont hold them.

What is your ideal rifle weight for Coues?
AZAV8ER replied to shoe's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I have been taking a buck every year for about 10 years with a 7# 270win. I find the rifle a little light for that cartridge (if you are not on the gun with good form it can get away from me, throwing the shot). Last year my son made a solid 350yd shot with a standard MOD70 270win withe a good sized scope, a solid set up guessing close to or around 9/9+#. Given my experience I am going to start carrying a MOD70 featherweight (a total misnomer) that would split the difference at right around 8# or just shy. so my preference for something 30-06, 280 or 270win is 8 lbs. -
The area in 35B we hunted last NOV had these claim markers all over it.

Nosler Long Range Accubond for hunting???
AZAV8ER replied to lionhunter's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
My son got his first buck this last season with the 145 ELD-X out of a 270WIN very good performance at 350 yds. -
Not true in AZ, down in 35B land owners have blocked access to the NF
-
There is always Casper WY. From the Casper airport you get to Denver or Salt Lake City both are great hubs for getting around the country.

Jazz not familiar with this area. Did the new land owner block access to BLM or NF beyond his land or did he close off his own land as a destination?

The most rattlers I have ever come across was a year working on a ranch between Deming and Lordsburg NM and S of I-10. Man I saw snakes everywhere. You would see them get baled up in the alfalfa, under the clothes line off the back porch heck one time rounding up cows to push em from one range to the other I looked down to see half dozed little 4inchers wiggling around. The part that got my attention was driving down a dirt road one afternoon I saw one crossing the road and stopped to shoot it with a 22 pistol it reared up and came at me, the heck with the 22 I grabbed a shovel from the truck and smacked it. Lots of snakes and luckily no close encounters that year. The closest was when I was about 13 or 14 and quail hunting between Pinnacle Peak and the Verde River. Had a covey in my sights and advancing to get a shot when just as I stepped over a little bush I heard the boy start to buzz. I don't know how I did it but from one foot on the ground and one foot over the bush I levitated up about 10 inches spun around 180 degrees leveled my 12GA and took that suckers heads off and cutout into three pieces with that one shot.
