Going back a little further anybody remember The Hayloft on Glendale and 44thAve? It was an old barn converted into a bar and dance hall with live country music. It was owned by a Glendale native some of you may have heard of him Marty Robbins ring a bell. I remember one night after it closed for the night hanging around and watching some country legends jam for a couple hours just having fun, Waylon, Willie and Marty boy what a memory.

I can remember when Central and Camelback was the outskirts of Phoenix. A trip to Sedona or Flagstaff was a 5 to 6.5 hour trip , you had to go through Wickenberg then through Skull Valley then go over Mingus Mountain just to get to Sedona then the switchbacks to Flagstaff. I remember when there was no I-17 at all. Deer Valley Airport had a longer runway than Sky Harbor by about 4K ft. Most of the other stuff listed was after my time.

Looks like the forest services are going to start lifting the fire and recreational shooting restrictions starting tomorrow 11/11/2020 so if you’re going hunting, camping or just shooting check with the appropriate NF for updates

My guesses would be Bob Hirsch or Bob Housholder both of them are older than you or me. And both lived around that area at that timeframe.

Not quite as old as dirt but I can remember when Shep was a pup. Fedmart was on Orborn and 29th ave and Govway was at 38th ave and Indian School, bought my Ruger 10/22 there in 1963 when they first came out at 12 years old thought it was the coolest gun going and I still have it, probably have ran 50k rounds threw it.

That’s scary, had a similar experience about 15 years ago up by Bumblebee pig hunting with my son and his friend going up a wash there was fresh cat tracks in the sand pointed them out we got out of the wash and hunted a couple hours and on the way back out there were more fresh tracks right where we went out of the wash told the boys stick close and keep your eyes peeled cause I think we have company. That was a 100 yards of butt pucker coming out.
