well i just got the nod from Home Depot for a part time J O B (20-25) hours in the hardware department, but dont worry, this wont interfear with my hunting, i already told them i need it of, so Doug, i might not be able to shoot next weekend, depends on how the work schedule is, i have orentitaion tomorrow and well see how it goes. -
that is a toad, congrats, look at the bases on that thing, if i can just see one like that this season i would be tickled to death, even if i cant throw some lead at it, or knock it down thats awesome! are u sure that buck ONLY scores 113?? he looks a lot bigger than that to me!

Anyone hunting with new firearms this season?

well, after shoting with doug(redrabbit) this weekend i am extremly tempted to carry my also 50+ year old .270 as it outshot my 30-06 by leaps and bounds. one thing that was weird, is saturday, the scope was shooting 3 inches high at 100, then today(sunday) it was shooting dead on bullseye at 100 kinda weird huh doug? thats why i think that the simmons Aetec that is on it is bad and wanted to put the Alpen on it. i was shooting federal premium 140 gr. accubonds at an average of 2837, with the high being 2935 and the low being 2783 with the average group being 3/4". while the federal premium high energy tbcc, shot at an average of 2928, high being 2948, low 2815 groups between 2 inches(out of the 30-06), and 1/2 inch so i am un decided should i take out grandpas old rifle, and kill one for him, or the rifle that has cost me a arm and a leg that has the nice glass and expensive(er) bullets? doug and i also found a elk load, winchester supreme 180 grain accubonds, 2521 fps and 3/4 inch groups Doug you think i should take the .270??? especially now that it is clean??? -

NEW RIFLE PURCHASE FOR NOV HUNT ADVIDE
firstcoueswas80 replied to gnoto's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
i would go with the 300 MAG or the 30-06, i shoot 165 grain bullets out of my 30-06 that equal the 180's out of a 300 mag. i would never take a 300 savage hunting for anything besides coyotrs, my grandfather has to of them insavage 99 and i have read ballastics and they are not impressive at all. -
bobaquiveries??????? i know thats spelt wrong but its a good place

Does anyone in here know the name Terry or Michelle Ragsdale?? they both were world champion archers and worked at the PSE in Tucson, i grew up with their son and daughter and when my dad and i were looking for a compound for me, we went to Terry and he set me up with a PSE nova, nothing wrong with that bow, for the time it was it was a good bow, no cams or anything so it is ouf of date now and heck, i probabaly havent shot it in 2-3 years!!! i did carry it on a Javelina hunt, but once i saw how many illegals there was in the area, i realzed that if i was gonna get a shot at a pig, i was gonna use my rifle and make it count!! we ended up not seeing a single pig that hunt!!! it sucked, did see a group of 87 illegals( we counted) and 1 90+ coues buck

let me tell you guys a little bit about this area, this is where i shot my small buck last year. on that first ridge that can be seen, i glassed up about a 70-75 inch buck during the december hunt that had his nose to the ground chasing a few does. when i glassed up the first deer of the day on the mountian, my heart started to race and i started to get a little shakey. i guess the adrenaline was flowing!!! imagine how im going to feel this november when i finally glass up a buck and i have a tag in my pocket and a rifle on my shoulder!!!

this is my first attempt at posting pictures. this is the mountain/area that we hunt sometimes. the second picture is the area at 6:18 am, taken by a camera phone with no zoom. the first picture is the same area with 4x zoom, with a color scheme added to it. i glassed up all 6 deer on that mountain, can anyone see them

back in the day(when dirt was being created), one of my dads buddies shot a deer and didnt go up to it and poke it, he just went up to it and started to pick up the rack, the deer then got up and started trying to fight him so the guy tried to break his neck! once he got his arse kicked, he ended up just shooting the thing agian. -

firstcoueswas80 replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
thays weird thats the same scope that i have on my rifle, do you have the stainless? my dad and i will probably be hunting near tank, it is a really big area and that is where i shot my first deer. every time that we go there we see some bucks so i think that were going to spend (depending obviously) about 5 days hunting there. are other spot is a place called, thats where i shot my deer last year. Those 7mm ultra mags are sweet guns! my dad has the RMEF edition 700 bdl.they have bery impressive ballastics, but the ammo is expensive. I drive a 1988 ford f-150, white with a blue camper shell, as i stated earlier, there will be two 130" bucks hangin in a tree, stop on by and say hello, theres always cold beer. -

couesstalker, what kind of scopd did you mount a-top that bauty? how is it shoting for you? my same gun in 30-06 seems to like the 165 and 180 grain bullets over the faster, lighter 125and 150 grainers. -

i have a old 721 in 270 also. it has been in the safe for a while, this year it is wearing a new scope and will get to be the back up gun, this gun has some ral character to it, has a nice scratch from when my grandpa had in on a moose hunt in i dont remember where but he had it right next to his leg and a bear came in camp and scared the horses. the horses hoof laid about a 6-7" cut in the stock instead of my grandpas leg, this gun is my favorite gun that we own, and is irrplacable to my father and i. -
