i have been a glassin fool on my elk hunt. glassed up 17 today in some thick chit. i cant wait to use my new tripod, binos and rifle on my hunt! woohoo!!

thats why i dont swim in roosevelt! my buddy ( named mike arndt actually, the same name as the kid) has caught them at 40 lbs out of there on crank baits!

my dad and i are down depending on where we hunt. if we hunt bear grass tank area, we wont be able to make it. BUT, if we hunt this other area we are thinking of hunting, it shouldnt be a problem as it is not far from the highway. lets get a date set and i will know weather or not my dad and i can make it! i think my 9 y/o bro will be with us also.

well, i am in town, and have seen very few elk. opening morning about 10 of them ran across the far end of the field my dad i were watching. some hunter shot about 10 times, and on the las tone i saw these elk. i ran over to a clearing, put my bipod down and got on them. they were to far and moving to fast for a ethical shot. however, if they would have stopped, that would be a different story!

tag-check rifle(s) zeroed- check (all three) sleeping bag-check pop-up trailer- check now i just gotta wait for my old man to get his but here and we are ready to go! wish me luck ya'll i will give a report and post pix (if any) monday

thats what i talking about! another 270wsm fan out there, i love mine! but, it is going to be my back up gun..... for my elk hunt hahahaha. it is of course first in line to knock down that 110 im gonna find. if it dont do the trick, its back to my old 270 winny. and yes i am way stocked for the opener. lucky for me, i have a elk hunt to keep my busy that starts friday! it is a cow hunt so it might not take all that long.

albert, and darren! happy birthday boys! i have met both these men and they are both excellent men! i have hunted deer, elk, and javelina with albert. darren, all though he is about 5 foot nothing and about 130 lbs ( on a good day) is also a nice man! happy birthday to both yall

with the season not very far off, is anyone else have a hard time concentrating at work/school? i sure as heck am! my mind is on 2 things : this lovely young blonde girl i am trying to make my girlfriend, and the upcoming elk and deer seasons! i keep seeing about a 85" in my sights opening morning! man i cant wait!

well, i invited her on my elk h unt and she wants to go, shes gonna have her grandpad from AK send out her camos. but then we had "the talk" basically she said i am like every other guy ( you know like lark and @$$hole) i told her i wasnt and she said what ever, so im keepin my distance from her until she comes to me and realizes what a hunk of a man shes missin,n i mean who else knows how to play the banjo, and has a dad grandpa uncle out there i mean come on??? and John, i would NEVER sell my rifles, not even to take your college age beautiful daughter on a date dont get me wrong i would take her, but not at the expense of my rifles..... im gonna take the advice of Kaffer now and put my elk hunt number 1

cook? skin a critter? shes from alaska, the animals we have out here are babies compared to what she has killed and skinned (caribou, moose) come on! her and i are going scouting tongiht, i will let her carry my zeiss and see how she does with that and give yall a report. shes a awesome girl and i like her alot!
