yeah we had 2 flats on my truck. the rear left went out, then we put the spare on it and not 20 mins later, the spare went flat! luckily, we stoppe din some buddies of ours camp when it went flat and they had fix a flat and it was fine after that! wish me luck as i drive from tucson to flagstaff in about 9 hours! good luck on ur hunt i hope you find a buck!

christian, imagine the smallest whitetail spike you have ever seen..... then make those spikes about half what they were then ya got him! thanks everyone. it was fun and, all though i will NEVER shoot a spike again. i am glad i took him, i think he will make all the other heads on my wall look bigger lol! this is the 1st time dad and i have ever tagged out on deer together. ya, i am way surprised at how many shots it took me. i expected him to drop on the first one i think i hit high i know then i did hit him, he would have died from the shot but i do not like to track them, especially when it can be stopped and they are standing there waiting for another round to be put in them. i cranked out the amount of shots i did rather quick too, especially since my rifle only holds 3!

the first shot was to scare off the other deer that it was with so i could concentrate on my buck. the second shot hit him low in the shoulder, catching the lung. then after that i kept shooting because he wasnt down or dead yet. i think u shoot until the deer is down, no matter what. then when he did lay down, i put the last one im him so to make it quicker. and, all the shots from my 270 wsm hit him in the same spot basically. they were all in the low shoulder in the lungs. i didnt ruin any meat but the 2 front shoulders! i got more from him then from my dads.

my dad killed a forky opening morning. it was around 930. we hiked a canyon behind camp where we had glassed 2 bucks the night before and were confident they were there. well they werent there and when we hike dout of the canyon, and hiked right through camp. we werent but 500 yards when my dad saw a deer not 75 yards from us and he could tell it was a buck. it then took off and when it was about 150 away, runnin dead away my dad put a 7RUM bullet in him. after finding blood and tracking him, my dad found him in the bottom of the canyon and put a un- necessary finishing shot in him. he is a decent fork. this hunt has been tough. we have seen around 30 deer the whole time, and only 2 bucks.

i need someone to go out with me tomorrow AM. my truck had 2 flats and i dont have a way to go out tomorrow am. cant go out until the last night after i get 2 tires fixed. im pretty bummed! an di dont think you went lookin, i think ur wife found the bill and kicked you out of the house for the weekend lol!

to my hunting partners, you know who you are. i have known all of you a long time and i have messed up big time. you know what i did, and now, i know what i did. i, at the time did not see anything wrong or else i would not have done and said what i did. i recieved the phone call from my dad tongiht telling me that you guys were quite upset with me. i wanted to extend my deepest apoligies. all though i know this will not help anything, i want you to know that i now know i have messed up and at the time i did not even think about it being wrong. i realize what i have shared with these people on here can not be taken back but i would like to say that i am sorry for that i have done. i am thinking of not even coming home to go hunting because i do not deserve to. to my long time partner and friend well call you big M, you know who you are, i feel like if i come home and hunt, it would be on area YOU showed ME and my dad and area I messed up and talked about. i feel like i dont deserve to hunt in the places you showed me now and i also feel like i would be hunting the deer you showed me. like i said, i know by posting this, it doesnt really do anything but i am truely sorry. i am hoping to find a 3x3 for me and i hope my dad will actually squueze the trigger! i have a new rifle this year and i really want to see what this baby can do! i didnt kill last year, and i didnt kill an elk this year so the freezer is BARE!!!! it will be hard for me to pass on a forky at 400 or less. i would like to get a 3x3 or a big forky. like i said, i will not be too picky. i only have 4 days to hunt so the first 2 i might not be in a hurrry, but the last 2 it is on! led the lead fly! good luck to everyone!

i have been a glassin fool on my elk hunt. glassed up 17 today in some thick chit. i cant wait to use my new tripod, binos and rifle on my hunt! woohoo!!

thats why i dont swim in roosevelt! my buddy ( named mike arndt actually, the same name as the kid) has caught them at 40 lbs out of there on crank baits!

my dad and i are down depending on where we hunt. if we hunt bear grass tank area, we wont be able to make it. BUT, if we hunt this other area we are thinking of hunting, it shouldnt be a problem as it is not far from the highway. lets get a date set and i will know weather or not my dad and i can make it! i think my 9 y/o bro will be with us also.

well, i am in town, and have seen very few elk. opening morning about 10 of them ran across the far end of the field my dad i were watching. some hunter shot about 10 times, and on the las tone i saw these elk. i ran over to a clearing, put my bipod down and got on them. they were to far and moving to fast for a ethical shot. however, if they would have stopped, that would be a different story!

tag-check rifle(s) zeroed- check (all three) sleeping bag-check pop-up trailer- check now i just gotta wait for my old man to get his but here and we are ready to go! wish me luck ya'll i will give a report and post pix (if any) monday

yeah three rifles dads 7RUM, my 30-06 (carrying) and the back up rifle the 270 wsm. i called my dad 3 times and reminded him to bring my tag! yes, dont forget TP thats more important than anything, and i do mean ANYTHING

thats what i talking about! another 270wsm fan out there, i love mine! but, it is going to be my back up gun..... for my elk hunt hahahaha. it is of course first in line to knock down that 110 im gonna find. if it dont do the trick, its back to my old 270 winny. and yes i am way stocked for the opener. lucky for me, i have a elk hunt to keep my busy that starts friday! it is a cow hunt so it might not take all that long.

there needs to be 2 cows standin there broadside on friday!
