Lesson Learned....Touche Fort Huachuca....Touche

Go by what you read in the regs/laws for that area, not by what you hear. They are possibly mistaken. -
Did you pick my brain for this post? Because this is exactly what I was going to say! My yellow lab is the best dog I've ever had. Amazing with the kids, very well behaved and loyal doesn't even begin to describe him.

Very nice bucks, and to do it year after year, that is impressive. Not only for you, but for the area. Nicely done.

I know what your dogs mean to you Jim, I am sorry to hear that. She can chase lizards for ever now!

I think most would agree, theres nothing wrong with asking and theres nothing wrong with replying either. I think most have issues with specific information said over the forum for then entire world to see, rather then the details said in a PM. I know a lot of guys cringe when they see 'their' spots being divulged by others who may or may not hunt that unit.

Mearns usually bust at the tips of your toes, gambels from about 100 yards (and if I recall correctly, gambles also make a heck of a lot of vocal noise when they bust too) and scalies, well, Ive only hunted them once. -
Interesting to see that on the hunt I apply for, not a single person with 3 or 4 points drew, but people with more, and fewer points drew.
-
38 points for buffalo... That seems crazy! But, not as crazy a 17 points for pigs/turkey!

To Biscuit or not to Biscuit? That is the question.

I like mine... On my old Mathews I took it off and put a fall a way on and my accuracy dropped considerably. -
Looking For Part Time Employment

I worked at Home Depot while I was up there at NAU... I really liked it. Have him see if Preston still works there... If he does, tell him Casey sent him... Now, theres a chance he wont remember me as he nearly died in a hunting accident a few years ago and from what I have been told, lost some memory... If he is still there, he is a great guy to work for. Big time bass fisher, and hunter. Another place to work is called Western Technologies. I worked there as well. That was/is my only time spent any where near the construction field (inspection portion) and I learned a lot there. There are opportunities to work 20-60 hours there. When I was there, the OT was unlimited so long as there were job sites. Made good money for a college kid at the time there, of course I spent much of it at The Museum Club but... -
Very cool! Was it a boar or a sow?

Wife, kids and I are in the process of moving and have some stuff we don't need, and need $ for diesel fuel for all the moving. First is a life size bobcat... Definitely not the best work done, but also not the worst.... Killed this cat in 36b, mounted by a guy in Texas. $275 Also, 7 1/2 foot pool table. Proline Billards. Red felt, very good condition. Thought I had pictures in my computer, but I guess not. Looks just like this one, also comes with racks, balls, cues, and red chalk. But, no cigarette burn like this one. Bring several people, it is HEAVY, the slate is very heavy. $700 OBO, pick up/transportation on buyer. http://concord-ca.callisale.com/bicycles/650proline-pool-table_18413287.html

What Caliber to get??? - Need Suggestions

Quarter bores are definately under rated, they kill very well especially with 100 TTSX's pushed hard. -
3 blade 100grain muzzy broadhead
firstcoueswas80 replied to swaro06's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
Shot my first javelina with this head several years ago at 22 yards. Drilled him, had excellent blood then it stopped. Never found the pig, but did find pig hair in coyote poop 3 days later so I assume it was that one. Accuracy was acceptable, but they were loud in flight if I recall correctly. Blew through the pig like a hot knife through butter, found it about 20 yards beyond the piggy. -

I would look at something in the 6.5 or 7mm genre. Both calibers have bullets with exceptional BC's. Something like a 6.5 wsm (a member here has one), 7wsm, 7 Rem mag etc would be awesome. Also, the generalization above about light vs heavy bullets being more or less accurate is absolutely untrue. Match the twist incorrectly, or shoot factory ammo your rifle does not like then yes, it MAY be true but it is definitely not a rule. Heavier bullets need a faster twist, lighter bullets need a slower twist. You have to find a happy medium, or get the right barrel for the job. I am a middle of the road type of guy (140's in the 270, 160s in 7mm, 100 in 257, 50-55 in .224) so I have not ran into many twist problems. I did have a factory 7 Rem Mag that shot 120 TSX's into less then an inch, and did the same with 150's. I remember in a Coues hunting video Vapor Trails and Whitetails, there was an in the field interview with a gentleman on the show and he said the 7 Rem Mag was about perfect for the Coues and I agree to that. Plenty of down range energy down range, high bc bullets, lots of factory ammo etc. I have seen Coues fall to 7 Rem Mags as well as 7RUM's, out past 500 and they do a damnn nice job of putting the animal down, quick fast and in a hurry. Plus, you can load a 160 and have plenty of rifle for elk.
