brass and major speed issues
firstcoueswas80 replied to lionhunter's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
The Federal brass in 300 wsm is thicker then the Winchester brass, almost always causing higher pressures and speeds... I have had to go through my brass and seperate head stamps after experiening this for myself in my Kimber WSM. -
Killer bucks for sure!

Wow, didn't think there would be much that pertains to this but on page three there are a few interesting charges....

Plain Jane Bullets

NoN Premium Bullets Have Their Places, But, You Don't Get Nearly As Much Bang Your The Buck If You Will. Not Many Offer The accuracy, Penetration, Weight Retention, And Bc That The Premium, Bonded Bullets Do. -

Hector, I had a rifle just like that that I, unfortunately bought and sold raising money to buy a engagement ring. It was a full Campfeld custom, Banser stock and weighed about 19 oz or so it felt. Fantastic choice. -
Be careful out there! Hand vs broadhead...graphic image

Looks like good penetration, I think I can see the knuckle! -
Killed mine with no dogs, but in the end its all a crap shoot. I have seen I think 6 and only killed one. Had a pair come in to the call, but only saw them for a second, there were 2 when I killed mine (buddy killed the other), and I had one jump out about 15 yards from me a couple years ago as I was packing out a buck and slipped and fell. He ran when I hit the dirt, and was was somewhat behind me and off the to the side. Spooky stuff! I had walked that trail up, and was now walking it down.

.260 rem, or 308 built on a Rem 7 action, McMillian EDGE technology stock. Use solid bullets, and keep distances reasonable and you will kill them all no problem. -

Just replaced this one... It hasn't been functioning for about 8 months. It has power, some of the buttons light up but does not cycle. For the handyman, it shouldn't be a big deal.. I, am not one of those handymen so we just replaced it. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/cph/app/4060959078.html $120 on CL, $100 to a member, possibly interested in trades too. Located in Casa Grande. Can meet in Tucson or somewhere close in the Chandler area etc.

Anybody using a levergun for Coues?
firstcoueswas80 replied to MT_Sourdough's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Carried a 99e for a few years with never firing a shot. I did, how ever kill 2 elk with it. -
Shouldnt be a hard fix. Was a AWESOME dish washer and then just all of a sudden quit on me. Had a guy out here and he said it was the control panel, I replaced that part (hence the extra one) but that's not what it was.

Id agree to that! -
IMHO, just another reason why people should post their own photos/story.

IMHO, you don't shoot a buck like that for score, you shoot him for character and 'wow' factor. In the three seconds it takes Flatlander to decide, I'da had him ranged and lead (copper) in the air by then!
