I'm not sold thats the reason. From what I've seen, the STC doesn't close enough for a lot of people (myself included), but the BTX seems to work for more people.

They take some getting used to. Head sits at an awkward angle, eye relief is touchy, but they are awesome to look through!

My hunting partner and I continually have awesome setups with birds that are gobbling their asses off but never come in to find the bead of my shotgun on their dome!

My hunting partner Jim was with us on Friday and Saturday and handled the calling. He wasn't able to be with us sunday, and promptly, my son looks at me and says "Dad that doesn't sound like Jim's calling."
