I cringe at a high ranking, they always fold when they get above about #20.

Thoughts or experience with Winchester ballistic silver tip ammo
firstcoueswas80 replied to jcarter's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
They are lethal. They usually make a nasty mess, especially if shoulder or ribs are contacted. -
Looking to sell the first rifle I ever bought myself I hate to sell it, but I hate staring at it in the safe and not getting used. I haven't shot or used it in 8 years. I did, however kill my first two coues deer, and one cow elk with it. It is a Remington Model 700, BDL mountain rifle, LSS. These are no longer produced and hard to find. It is a 30-06, and shoots right around MOA. The Leupold is a Vari-X III 3.5-10x50, stainless sitting in Leupold bases and rings, stainless as well. There are two small nicks in the stock, one is from a mishap with a rock, the other is from the Dremel when I floated the barrel. Both are minor but are there. I will include all ammo I have (unknown quantity, or what rounds I have, but I would guess 40 or so rounds), the dies and the brass. I would like $1025 shipped to your FFL, $1000 FTF I have pictures, but they are just cell phone pictures.

Between Remembering what happened last year, and my best friend being a and lands fire fighter, that courageous tale brought a tear to my eye. What a event!

With Stanford, UCLA, ASU, USC, and Oregon having a loss, I highly doubt the pac-12 will have a representative. Of course, with Alabama losing as well, the field might be wide open!

.270wsm vs. .300wm
firstcoueswas80 replied to PelaPapas's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I've had better luck with animals being dead right there on the spot with a 300 over 270wsm.... But, the 257 wby has them all beat in that area! -
Hey I've got something to say.... El Duce or whatever was called is not dumb that guy was awesome.
-
Not a 300, but my dad could probably be talked out of his 7rum for a decent price.
-
Did you read the thread? The hunt is over, picture of the bull on the page before this.
-
Reloadersnest has no loads listed for 140 gr bullet and rl 17, just 19 & 22.
-
Never in my 270, but I use I with the 155 scenar in my 300 wsm... might be a little fast for the 270

Bullet grain for 30-06
firstcoueswas80 replied to joelpresmyk8's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
165/168. I'd look for the 165, Barnes tsx or the 168 ttsx -
The 3rd day of the hunt was a rough one for bulls in 9, that's even I killed mine to. congrats on an awesome bull.
-
If you want to use the 223, I'd shoot the heaviest Barnes tsx the rifle will stabilize. I've got a 243 you can borrow if you're interested.
-
If you shoot those small groups and got 7-10 loads per, I'd just go with new Remington or Winchester brass, no need to change.
