Clean vs. Dirty vs. Cold bore
firstcoueswas80 replied to lancetkenyon's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Surprised I haven't seen anyone mention the type of bullet varies what you see. For several years I used nothing but the TTSX with stellar results in my 257 wby, only down fall is they foul like crazy. 1/2 moa at 500+ but foul a ton. I recently switched to the 110 Accubond, I'm not sure why and they don't foul as much. Also, the berger hybrid does not foul my 7 LRM barrel that much, although that barrel is treated with dyna bore coat, as is the 257. -
Clean vs. Dirty vs. Cold bore

My 257 wby strarts to fall off after 12-15 rounds. Not a bunch, but slowly. It shoots best clean clean CLEAN, and one fouler. I haven't dialed the 7 LRM in yet, as I'm still looking for that stellar load. -
You're still dead to me.

Yep, zac -
3 mags as shown, I think one is a 20 and the others are 17. Threaded Lone Wolf barrel with port on the end, 2 factory barrels, extended/chrome mad release and barrel release (what you take the gun down with) fiber optic front sight and rear sight a long with original rear sight, C-More STS sight, Dawsons precision magwell, Ghost Race master holster insert, after market and original trigger and as shown most if not all paperwork with the mods. And of course the Midway pistol case shown. Looking to get $1,000, shipped OBO.

My son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes a month ago, ( the day after his 2nd birthday) and the bills are rolling in. With purchasing a CGM and Insulin pump, the bills really add up even with the good insurance I have. I am looking to sell this rifle as it is my most expendable. I bought this rifle purely to be a 'collector'. I never really planned on hunting it or shooting it much so it is first to go. It really bums me out as I had wanted a 100% original pre 64 for a long time. But, gotta do it for my son! As stated above, 100% original, great condition Pre 1964 Model 70 270 win with Weaver fixed 6 scope. One safe bump and a rub spot on the barrel are the only imperfections my eyes can find. Does not appear to have been shot, hunted or carried much if at all. Posted on several sites, PM or public Ill take it based on time stamp wins. $1050.00 shipped 3 day non fire inspection period, buyer to pay for return shipping, full refund less shipping. Rub spot on barrel Serial on receiver matches serial on bolt.

4th Gen Dodge Owners? Let's see em'!
firstcoueswas80 replied to COOSEFAN's topic in Other Hunting Gear
Jim, If you rotate the CRAP out of those Nittos they will last for ever. I don't remember the EXACT number but I think my first set lasted 55,000 or 56,000 on a 500+ hp Turbo diesel... Of course, i was single, no wife no kids so getting them rotated once a month was no big deal.I just had to buy two new rear ones (one caught a large nail, the other was low enough Discount advised replacing it) after d guess less then 25,000-30,000 due to hardly ever getting them rotated -

Jim, one thing about the 18" wheels... extremely limited on tire options. I basically HAVE to run Terra Grapplers on my truck, which is no big deal, I like them but they were NOT cheap. -
I love it. I've got no problem with people looking for help but it cracks me up when somebody's first post is looking for places to hunt in unit xx.

Yes it is, and it pains me to see her go as she is one of if not the finest specimens I have ever seen, but I don't want to owe the credit man millions, and my wife and I are providing the top of the line care for our son. Gotta do whatcha gotta do for those kiddos. -
I have a 2006 Bowtech Allegiance that launches a nearly 500 grain arrow at 280 fps.... not bad for a bow that old. They are affordable to... I think $200ish would get you one if you can find it.

25-06 ???? Best all around bullet

100 gr TTSX put this cow down lickity split! -
One thing about Jay Scott to consider, I called them about my unit 9 tag last year and they only did 10 day hunts and were priced accordingly. That was for archery, not sure about rifle.

Don't hesitate to buy this. This is a fantastic gun I LOVE mine.... if McMillan made synthetic stocks for this there's a VERY good chance mine would be my 100% go to rifle for everything!

Sounds about the same burn rate as R25? Slower or faster then 7828?
