Any tube rifle builds for hunting? (lightweight)
firstcoueswas80 replied to Chris's topic in Long Range Shooting
Im not, more of a slam to his pet cartridge -
You are correct. I was thinking that fmj bullets on non military cartridges might be legal, but if the reg is reffering to the concept of fmj bullets in general than they would not be. Either way I think I'll use something differnt next time to avoid any GREY area. I see what you did there.......
-
I agree. But as stated, I BELIEVE the fmj bullet itself is/was designed for military use.
-
The way I see that rule, is the FMJ itself was meant for military, and that's what they go off of. Not whether or not the box says intended for military use.

Id rather use Larks 7/08 than one of those! -
The answer is a 22, or shotgun.

Night Force SHV & Burris XTR II Scopes

With the zero stop in, that is correct. Good thing is, with my rifle that gets me plenty far, but the creedmore would be a different story. -

I never killed a cat with them, but was less then impressed with the 40 vmax from my 223 on coyotes. -

I've been down this road before. What was recommended to be was a light light bullet at warp speed, hoping for no exit. -

Light Weight Deer Gun?
firstcoueswas80 replied to AZ_SAWBUCK's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
What I think stomp meant: " BALLISTICALLY speaking my rig has what it takes to ethically kill at 800 yards." What I think Thomc read "800 yards is an easy chip shot with my rifle and load". -
Light Weight Deer Gun?
firstcoueswas80 replied to AZ_SAWBUCK's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
My gun is not a superlight by any means, but with a 26" #4 fluted barrel, McMillian EDGE stock, it weighs 7.3#, by itself. Not bad considering it is a 7LRM. -
Good god the buck looks like a monster.

Color me impressed! Great shot, rifle, bull, etc. Fantastic!
