Some more desert ducks
firstcoueswas80 posted a topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
The pup gets better and better every time. I was curious how she was going to do. She's a little thin and it was cold. Air temp was about 30°, yet she swam out and retrieved four ducks for me no problem. A little planning of her rout and off she goes! Finally got my first mallards of the season, and a scotch double on spoonies. 20240110_094310.mp4- 17 replies

First one I've ever killed and he's an absolute beauty! -
Newberg did an interview with my pig honey hole directly in the background.... didn't see a pig in there for years after that. We were able to double in there this year.

There really isn't much waste on a gutless method. Take the rib meat, take the tenderloins, and go all the way up the neck for the roasts and there isn't much of anything left.

Atleast it was "Only" 18 this time instead of 45.

What happened to the guy above who said he'd buy it?

And to answer the question, I packed mine out whole. Gut in the field obviously but pack the entire Pig out. I then debone it completely turn the shoulder blades and rib bones and everything else into dog food.

It looks like the quarters are gone as well and someone used the gutless method.

Ranbits you can have 1 buck and 3-5 does and youll never run out if meat. Californians or Silver Fox.

Helll yea! Right when I was getting divorced, my boy wanted to go rabbit hunting so we did a few times. He loved it and loved the rabbit stew.

Personally, I'll always support a unit manager who wants to protect the animals by decreasing tag numbers, as necessary.

Pretty simply, glassed them up in a old honey hole. Got to 215, had to wait for them to get broadside. Picked out the biggest one and let the 1955 model 70 243 have at it. One shot, 7 yard stumble and the big old sow was done for.

Single life is badasss. Just as is this muzzy. Mark and I doubled up on leftovers a few years back. Someone take over my alimony payments, and I'll buy this thing myself.

Howd that go over with the wife? Also, Africa is awesome. It is way different than hunting out here, but it's awesome. I'd suggest to everyone trying it at least once. (Plus, going is probably a good way to not pias off the wife)

You guys are a menace on the pig population! I'm glad to see your sister back with you, can't recall seeing her on your hunts in a bit.

Hoppes isn't much of a cleaning agent. It smells good more than anything. Step up your solution, for sure.

AR 10 cycling issues

If it's ejecting but not picking up the next round, that sounds like a magazine issue to me. -
It was only 45 points.... but again the ASU dudes won't say a word

Lesson one on the wife + truck thing -
Got the gun boot installed. Super happy with how it went! All I need now is a winch a jack and a fire extinguisher.

Man, I haven't heard of too many people that go to 12 back to tens and 15s. Did you not like them? I absolutely love my 12 NLs.

Last time I posted about a field day, one of the instructors that frequenced this site told me that there was a class upcoming for flagstaff. This was like a year and a half ago but they do happen! I'm sure he will reach out to you like he did to me.

After I drop my boy at school, I'm loading up the razor and taking it to my buddy's house to see if we can get that Kolpin gun boot attached to my roof rack. I'm hoping so but we shall see. I definitely want to use something like that instead of the gun bag but the gun bag would suffice in a pinch.
