How was your hunt? It was great, rut was starting. Four hunters, 100"-113"-118"-122". Couldn't be much better.

Just got back. We were south of Douglas, filled up on US side then filled gas cans in Aqua Prieta. Didn't need gas for trucks till we got back to US. But tried to get diesel for one truck in Cananea and all stations were out. Had to take a can to Naco to get enough to make it to the border, didn't check if they had gas at those stations. So if you're running diesel you might want to get an extra can for that.

I've said it before, I would rather watch grass grow than sit in a blind for 191 hours waiting for a buffalo. Good luck to all of you that put in for these hunts. Flame on.

What, your friend won't tell you where to scout?

I would definitely carry a cow call, you can stop or hold a wary bull for just long enough to get a shot off.

Years ago I used a mobile guy that was very good and reasonable. I'm hoping someone knows who that is and puts that information on here. I'll call a friend on Monday and see if he remembers the guy's name.

Have been in and around literally 100's of elk the last couple of weeks and have not heard a bugle. Not to worry, give them some time.

A few years ago, had a friend that glassed some far off pigs from the road, then drove to put himself in a stalking position. G&F was watching and gave him a ticket for road hunting. He paid the fine instead of going to court so his wife wouldn't find out. Can't imagine anyone on an antelope hunt does it any other way.

It's been my opinion that if the Bulls have plenty of water sources and plenty of feed its a good rut with lots of bugling. Just my opinion.

After following me around on various scouting trips, the boys, Zach 8 and Trevor 7, finally got the chance to do some hunting with a couple of my .22's. 4 cottontails provided dinner for us one night and the dogs were good stalking and shooting practice.These guys can't wait to be able to take the hunter safety course and get a big game tag

When we got back to Colorado, Zach got this pesky ground squirrel with his pellet gun.
