This by far is the number one tip. With your optics on a tripod you can take your eyes off and look at the hillside to get your landmarks. You might as well start saving for some 15x56 swarovskis, expensive but at your age the price per year of use is well worth it. You will be amazed at what your missing. As for seeing them with your naked eye, I think if you see them that way they have already seen you! Glass,Glass, Glass.
