Was walking a closed road in 5bs yesterday when a truck came by, I told him it was closed but sure didn’t blame him for being on it since it was obvious there had been a lot of traffic the last few days. I have a friend that got a ticket in 5a last year, $150 fine. He was told the next one would be $1000, at that rate you walk the closed roads and put up with the people that either don’t know or choose to ignore. I wish there was clear choice of what to do.

Here’s the Coconino Forest number for reporting fires. 928-527-3552, everyone should put it in their contacts and report any camp fires during a restriction period. We need to hold the forest service accountable for following up on these reports and handing out some stiff fines for the offenders. Please share this as much as possible and add any other forest contact numbers for the areas you routinely visit. Thanks Tonto National Forest 480-457-1551 to report fires

Tough deal.

Though it has burned through a corner of the subdivision they have a lot of structural crews on scene and though they are reporting some structures burned we do not know at this time if those were outbuildings like sheds or barns or homes. Fire on the ground is not necessarily a bad thing so keep the faith. Believe me, its houses. Most of the houses(not all) along the canyon in clear creek pines unit 9 have burnt to the ground. Guy Mauro has sent me many pictures in the last 12 hours and Ill wait for him to post them. My cabin in unit 8 was spared, Ive heard no cabins in 8 burned. It is starting to affect Mogollon ranch now. Not sure how they will fare. Heres one house that was Ron Greens family house.

It’s like when turkey season starts all the camping restrictions, road closures,camping by waterholes,and fire restrictions are just a recommendation, not really something you need to follow. Horrible up here this weekend.

This fire started the day they started the restriction in the Coconino. Saw where Tonto forest gave out hundreds of warnings last weekend in their forest. Why warnings! That’s the stupidest thing I’ve heard!

I have a pickup, utv, and atv, at my cabin up north.Year’s ago I thought the atv was the way to go. Then started going in the Kawasaki Mule. Now I use the pickup, much more comfortable, warm in winter and no dust.

Hunted with a guy that had the antelope suit a few years ago. Saw small bucks that wouldn’t leave him alone! Haven’t been able to convince my friends that have had the tag to get one, but I’m a believer!

Depending on how much you want to spend, I have had an electric smoker for several years and thought there couldn’t be anything better. Especially for less than $200, I still have the electric one up north but recently bought a Green Mountain Grill pellet smoker( similar to a Traeger) and am liking it. But it is in the $700 price range.

Tried to set up a portal account for my grandson and found out you have to be 13 to get an account. Wondering what does everyone do when putting them in for draws, keeping track of bonus points, checking draw results, etc.

Fishing was good, 3in the boat we averaged 90 per day. Our big fish of the week was 6#4oz, biggest in our group was 8#4oz. FYI the exchange rate is 17.3 to 1.
