swaro vs leica
bullwidgeon replied to fatfootdoc's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Outdoorsmans makes the nipple adapter for the the Leicas as well. I have em for mine and my buddy has them for his Ultravids, you should tell your brother in law to check them out. -
swaro vs leica
bullwidgeon replied to fatfootdoc's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
I had my Trinovid BN's up there that day, my buddies 12x50 Ultravids are the ones that really impressed me so much. I am getting ready to dust that busted up old muzzleloader off this weekend and try to scope it in for hog season. I still haven't jacked with that scope or done anything to it other than clean the heck out of it since September. Maybe I can find a hog to shoot with it in a week or two, if I can get her dialed in enough. Good luck with whatever you decide, I will say it again, really you can't go wrong either way... Bret M. -

swaro vs leica
bullwidgeon replied to fatfootdoc's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Leica Ultravids are the best binoculars in the universe when considering weight warranty and comfort. This is from a guy who owns 15x Swaros and 10X Leica Trinovids BN's. My buddy got the 12x50 Ultravids and they are awesomly light and mega clear. I am sure the 10x model of Ultravids is awesome as well, check them out before you make any hasty decisions to buy Swaros just because everyone else has them. You cant really go wrong either way but just check them all out... Bret M. -
Has anyone seen pics the Mattausch Buck?
bullwidgeon replied to Coues 'n' Sheep's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
My dad Billy killed it. Ben is my uncle. I haven't seen it dead. I saw it alive a few times on video. It is a good one. I was out of town all last week so I don't know the entire deal yet or have pics maybe when I go down there for HAM season I will see the rack and get a picture or two. Bret M. -
I was in Louisiana, everything looked shadowy to me and not just on the 2nd. Puxatawny Bret

I saw lots of hog sign down on the river last week while busting up quackers. You should try the hills adjacent to the river bottom anywhere from Geronimo to New Mexico. Good luck. Bret M.

What Worked and What Didn't?
bullwidgeon replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Scouting all summer long, videoing and then busting my ar$e opening day to get on and then shoot the buck of my choice didn't work out at all. In fact I felt like a chump when 2 other dudes were set up on him trying to shoot him and carp hunters were swarming the ridge he lived on like flies on a dead possum. He wisened up and disapeared after all that comotion opening day. Drinking 748 beers and a half jug of whiskey in celebration because my buddy finally shot his first coues then sleeping in and subsequently crawling up the hill behind camp because I was too hungover to go anywhere else the next morning worked out great. I saw the 3rd biggest deer I had seen the entire hunt and managed to flop him. Who says you need to scout, video and bust your hump all summer long and preseason to kill these things? All that scouting and trying hard will do is lead to frustration and wasted time . Bret M. -
Thats ugly, he is probably missing 10 inches from the chewage!!!!! Nothing like knowing there is another 140+ gorilla out stomping around somewhere in the freaking pine trees where he will never get shot!!!! Bret M.

This is the same deer that I recieved different pictures of and in the email it said it might be close to the new archery world record. This is just what I recieved in email and email's are like women you meet down at the bar in AJ, they both lie alot and have no teeth. There is post from awhile back on the Archery forum about the deer (that's where I pulled this picture from). Bret M.

Why do you call mulies a carp
bullwidgeon replied to mulie hunter's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Because they are lame. If you dont like it go check out any one of the www.ginormouscarp.net websights. There are several to choose from, good day. Bret M. -

Anybody been quail hunting??
bullwidgeon replied to Kilimanjaro's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Just what's come into the pond or creek while I am smacking quackers. Less than 10 Gambles and none of the Mearns or Scalies. I have seen alot of quail this year though compared to the past few years. Good to know someone is having fun with them. Thats a nice looking shotgun Not sure I would be dragging one that nice through the Mesquites and Catclaw chasing quail... Bret M. -
Nice pics! Good luck. Bret M.

NICE ONE!!! Good job! Bret M.

There ain't no snow on the North slope right now. You can drive to just below Rice Peak so don't go thinking you will be getting away from anyone by hiking up there. Alot of the country is burned but there are still deer there so who knows. Good luck. Bret M.

Any reports from the late tag holders?
bullwidgeon replied to catclaw's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I heard all sorts of rumors this weekend that are useless without pictures. A 140 something non typical from unit 22 and another good one from 36B. Again, just rumors that are worthless without pics. Sounds like it is pretty good out there though. Good luck guys.. Bret M. -
You'll find a bigger one later. Good luck Bret M.

New Hunting Opportunity in Mexico!
bullwidgeon replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Mexico
How sweet, if you just put up some corn feeders and more box blinds it will be just like the deer slaughter that goes on during "Hunting The Country" and "Realtree Outdoors" every Sunday on ESPN. How sweet, no more hiking around, I can chuck these boat anchor 15X binos giant backpack and tripod, start loading up on extra Krispy Kremes and Double Bacon Cheeseburgers and Chocolate Milks! It ain't too hard to shimmy up a ladder into heated box. Box blinds in fields and under feeders here I come! Does B&C actually recognize these things as real coues yet because it sounds too good to be true.... Bret M. -
Neat finds while roaming the hills

Their folks is the funniest fairy tale I have ever heard!!! What were you doing in "college" serving a community service sentence or gathering up trash or scamming on broads or what exactly? I am certain their wasn't a whole lot of educating going on! Bwaahahahahahahahaha!!! Bret M.
