    Bow suggestions

hey sczoner, I would agree w/ the micro midas 3. my son got his when he was almost 9 and started him @ 25, hes almost 10 and now pullin 38. good idea about form, maintain that thought process. keep this in mind, it worked ,and is, working w/ my son. short frequent shoots, getting comfortable w/ ranges and goin from pin to pin, the reason in my oppinion is, that about the time hes gettin comfortable w/ say, 20 or 25# your gonna be tweekin that weight as his muscles grow and they respond faster than i thought they would. but of course as you build that weight pull, there goes his consistecy at a given range. and at least w/ my son that frustrated him. he was gettin dialed in from 10-25 yds. and doin some indoor 3-d shoots w/ me, then i would change him up. what kept his intrest was keepin our shoots short and fun. we live in tucson and last w/e we went to the outdoor range at pse and i can say this, its all is payin off, and for never shootin beyond 25 yds he really surprised me on the 35 yrd. target. good luck hope this helps

    The best unit

i ,as well as packhorse, and from dwaynes book would agree that 36b is the best bet on public land!
  7. last season (archery cow) two of my friends were huntin and the one was drawn back w/ a bead on a cow when outa the corner of his eye comin head down was a 6x6 full speed, didnt hook him but rolled him over and stomped him 2 or 3 times. was uninjured, shaken yes and rattled but was ok. when he got his faculties together he headed back to camp and began to medicate himself w/ good canadian whiskey (crown is our preferred flavor) for the rest of the day. some army guys witnessed the whole thing and came to check on him and help him back to camp. the other guy on the same hunt was squatin by some blow down takin care of business (and left his bow about 5 feet away) and of all times to be hobled by your britches, when a young black bear decides that he needs to investigate his reason for squatin. my buddy sed there was no need for laxitives at this point and thankfuly after more than a few anxious moments the bear was satisfied and went on to other adventures, and all involved were unscathed!! az huntin at its best!!

  13. mr. c. , good topic. i use a canon a-70, 3.2 mp and my pentax 20-60s, as well as my sons 12-50 on a tripod and run the camera zoom out to 3x and insert the camera into the eye cups and the results are awesome. i have found that if i am in the shade the veiwfinder is a lot easier to pick up details. i am new with this so gimme some time and i will get some pix posted. good luck!

    36 B december hunt

current intel report, spent the late morning and on into the evening in the ruby area and was by myself on the quad w/ the early scounting essentials and saw 15 wt of which 7 had some hardware the best being about 95-105, i kicked him up from under a tree bout 45 yds from me. must have had a stare down for a minute at least, then as i reached for my camera and prepared to shoot the quad running was shakin me and messin up the view finder(and yes mr buck was frozen the whole time) so i then shut the quad off and as soon as i did he flagged and away he went. next time i'll have it together a little better for all y'all. just got the camera and it has become a part of the gear that has made the cut for this year. next project will include tryin to get some shots posted on here for your viewin pleasure and try to cut joshs' work load a little,, ha ha ha! thanx for the motivation and good luck -mike-
  16. any advice bout 36B in december, was my 3rd choice, explain that one??

    brand new to hunting

newbee, practice, practice, practice with that bow and try to find an outdoor range. the best advice i have recieved about bow huntin is this, for the range or ranges that you wish to be proficient become aquianted with 10 yards farther, example if shooting out to 50 yards is your effective max, practice at 60 and become proficient and comfortable and so on, keep the wind in your favor and practice stalking on any thing that moves. get ya a lion tag(pest control) and if ya are lucky enough to see one that could very well be a barometer for the area of intrest. one more thing get ya some sneaky petes from pse or the other type of stalking aids for your boots, carlton also makes a good pair and they can be found at sportsman wherehouse or in cabellas, good luck. some other info that i have picked from this site came on the game cameras area about activity pertaining to water and whitetails. the majority of action came between 11am and 1pm and from my excursions in 29 to 36c I would have to agree and say that I was pleasantly surprised, again thanx to all that have helped me w/ thier info this site has really helped out!! -mike-

    Unit 35 B ?????

35 b huh? on your scoutin trip take your bow and keep an eye out for some monster mulies. there were no rifle hunts last year for mulies in that area and if ya bag a keeper pass that whitail tag on to your son or daughter if they are able to hunt and get a 2 for 1 if ya know what i mean good luck
