What arrows and broadheads for Bear???
John O replied to coues4u's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
125 gr. Montec or Striker Magnum -
This is some good practice for all you glassers out there. The four photos below all have deer in them. How many in each photo. Try to do it without zooming in. I don't have $2000 binos, and a fancy camera set up, just cell phone photos through my cheap 15X70's. I will give you a hint: There are five in one of the photos.

Someone help me out with a score on the buck in the first photo. I know the quality is crappy. You can't tell from the angle, but he had some good height. I would put him just over 90. He would have been on my wall if he hadn't jumped string on me during my last day out in Jan.

I bought this little ATV trailer about 2 years ago, and have never used it. It is in excellent shape, and would be a great gear hauler behind a quad or a rhino. I would like to get $100 for it. Feel free to PM me with questions.

I can lower the price to $75 firm. If there are no takers, I will go ahead and put it on Craigslist. PM me with questions.

Unfortunately I don't have any paperwork.

What a cool pig. I think animals that have unique features are always the most interesting to take. Also- Nice photos of Hillary Clinton's feet in photo 3.

I have passed up several opportunities to shoot one of these little coatis this year. While sitting on a tank yesterday, this little guy came in so I decided to take him. They really are cool looking creatures.

So late on opening day I had three shots at Javelina. I shoot an X-force with 80 lb limbs, and an arrow speed of 330 f/s. My shots were at about 55 yards. By my calculations, this would allow the pig 0.35 seconds between hearing the shot, and the arrow hitting its mark. Not only did all three jump string, but each arrow hit at least 12 inches behind the animal as it jumped out of the way. Have I found a herd of javelina ninjas, or are they all like this???

I was out hiking all over creation this afternoon looking for a pig, and ran into this little find. My first skull, and a decent rack. Thought is was worthy of sharing.

Congratulations on a great buck and a great memory.

I'm not kidding Lark. I have one pound of breakfast maple javelina sausage left in my freezer with your name on it. Best tasting game I have ever had (aside from quail).

What do you wear on your feet for a stalk?
John O replied to couesarcher's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I had your same problem last year. I took off my shoes to stalk the coues I ended up shooting, but felt lucky I didn't have feet full of cactus, as I was in cholla and prickly pair patches during the stalk. So I asked my wife to sew me some "custom" quick removable sneaky feet. Set me back about $8. They have a sole of 4 layers of fleece, and the tabs on the side to lace them to the shoe. Takes about 30 seconds to put them on or take them off. I have used them so much, they are almost worn out. Stalked to 20 yards from a 90 incher last week until the doe he was tending busted me. Much nicer than having to trek back in socks to where you dropped off your boots. -
Great story, and way to go man!!! You have had a hand in so many successful hunts this year, including my sons, and you are very deserving of that great buck. Enjoy it.

I am considering loading some 130 grain TSX or Tipped TSX for my son's 30-06. He has been shooting a .270 with 110 gr tipped TSX's, which I have been very pleased with, but it is time to hand that rifle to little brother and graduate to the 30-06. Anyone have any experiences with this bullet and it's accuracy?
-
Great! .270 bullets still available.
-
Thanks. I decided to stick with 150 gr noslers for the 06, and use 110 gr TTSX in my .270 for deer. The 110's are so accurate, I would be crazy to use anything else.

I had an old friend surface and offer me one at a great price, so I am taken care of now. Thanks for your offer Becker, and thanks James!

I bought my son a used PSE bow for Christmas that needs a new rest. Anyone have a used whisker biscuit they could sell me for a good price? I have some odds and ends I could trade for as well, if interested.
