John O replied to Ace High Benny's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
+1 He has done my last 5 animals, and I have been nothing but thrilled with the quality and service. -

It was truly an honor to be along on this hunt. I wish everyone reading this could have been there and experienced the excitement and satisfaction of taking such a beautiful animal. Congrats again Forrest!

I have for sale a youth single shot New England 20 gauge. My boys have outgrown it, and it's time for it to find a better home. It has about 100 rounds through it, and shoots just fine. It is in good shape, with a few minor dents and scratches. Great choice for a first quail or dove gun. Updated- $75 and I willl throw in five and a half boxes of shells and three #3 buck shells (See photo below). FTF in the Tucson area only please.

Fall Season Debrief (lessons learned, thoughts)
John O replied to natureboyfloyd's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I think the best way I can sum it all up is: hot weather + lots of rain = tough fall season A big congrats to everyone that experienced varying degrees of success (Remember- Success is not always defined as getting an animal on the ground) -
That spike has some awesome character!! A wall hanger for sure. A big congrats on your success.

Sold, pending funds.

This pack is used but in great shape. You can detach the pack from the frame, which comes in handy. I have it for my son, but found something else that fits him better. $35 FTF in the Tucson area.

Congratulations on your success! I think your deer is as nice as any other taken this season. Enjoy the tasty cuts.

Inverter Broadhead test #2 Cinder Block
John O replied to wardsoutfitters's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
How cool is that!!! What a great photo of your stalk. Congrats on your success! -
Seems this forum has been a little slow, so I thought it might be a good time for those hunting this Fall to show us their rigs. I am shooting a 2009 X-Force Dreamseason with 80 lb limbs, 29 inch draw length, PSE Phantom rest, PSE F-35 sight, 8 in. 12 oz. Eastman Advantage stabilizer, Goldtip 7595 arrows cut to 28.25 inches, with the new tri-verter mechanical broadheads. My chrono'd arrow speed is just under 330 f/s. Attached is a photo of my bow next to a couple of bunnies that fell by the wayside. Good luck to everyone, and hopefully some big dudes hit the dirt.

Thanks Steven. Went out this afternoon and tested them, and they flew perfect with my field points out to 70 yards. I can't wait till next Friday!!

What do you wear on your feet for a stalk?
John O replied to couesarcher's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Bought a brand new pair of them at Sports Authority last week. They must have had some leftovers.
