I like 36a. Last rifle hunt I was on down there, we glassed up 96 deer in one day. Shot my archery coues in that unit in Sept. Good access, and fairly easy country to work. Just like any unit, if you take the time to invest in it, you will get a reasonable payoff.

Call Larry Whitney in Huachuca City at 520-266-3328. He has done three shoulder mounts for me, and his price is right. Great guy too! PM me if you want any more details. Congrats on a nice buck!

+1 I used them last year and they did an excellent job. No doubt, they are the best in Southern Arizona. Jonathan has done several for me as well, and he runs an A+ shop. If you don't get an answer to the number posted, try 520-349-9635. Good luck on your hunt.

Our First Coues Bucks
John O replied to CampbellsCouesAdventures's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
What a great story, and congrats on two awesome bucks! The way I see it, a coues "trophy" has much more to do with the effort put into the hunt rather than the number of inches of bone. You have clearly demonstrated that, and what awesome memories. I look forward to seeing photos of your mounts. -
Come on man!! Leave some bucks for the rest of us! Congrats on a great hunt.

0 for 4 but we had a great time!

Definitely good times. I don't usually do this, but I'm going to give a plug for two things: 1- Wilderness Athlete Energy and Focus Drink- On day two I ran out of water after the nastiest hike of my life, and fortunately Amanda had a pouch of this drink mix. My legs had started to cramp really bad, and I wasn't in the best shape, but after drinking half a pack mixed in a few ounces of water I was good to go for the rest of the hike back. 2- Scott's wife Rhonda's homemade salsa. It is AMAZING!! I think we need to post the recipe on CWT.com somewhere. -
That's really awesome! Congrats to your brother, and great job helping him getting it done.

Wow, that is a real beauty!! Wall hanger for sure.

Way to go Devan! I knew you would get it done. Awesome eye guards too.

I am looking to pick up a small chest or upright freezer. Don't need anything pretty, just something that works. If anyone has one they are looking to off load, feel free to send me a PM. Thanks!

Had a fantastic 4 days of hunting with my boys and a friend and his son in 6A. The boys really hung in there, and it took us a while to figure out where we needed to be and how to attack the area to get into some action. After a bunch of close calls, my oldest son Jake finally got it done within 45 minutes of darkness on the last day. We had a heck of a time getting the full size cow to the truck in the dark, but finally had it back to camp and hung up just after midnight. Truly a hunt to remember. Wouldn't trade these good times with my boys for anything.

Way to go Hunter!! As far as I am concerned, that buck is the biggest trophy in the books. Great job!

Yes he did Doug. Two elk on the last day of the hunt made for quite a tiring, yet exciting day.

The Nikon Monarch 12X56's are excellent, and you can get a pair online for about $350.

Started out a HUGE fan of fixed blades. Shot my first coues with a 100 gr. Montec. Blood trail was a drop or two every 15 feet or so. Shot my first pig with a muzzy MX3 100 gr. Took me almost 2 hours to find it. The shots were good not great, but even so the blood trails were very poor and hard to follow. Fortunately I recovered them both. Decided to try the new 2 blade Inverter mechanical broadheads from Steve Ward. Really like how they fly just like my field points, and tough as nails. Shot some rabbits with them and was very impressed with their performance. Ended up getting my hands on some of Steve's prototype 3-blade Triverters, and liked them a lot as well. Shot a pig in January with one, and it went about 3 yards and piled up. Blood everywhere, and easy recovery. Ran out of triverters in the offseason, and on a few missed shots in January, so had to go back to the Inverter 2-blades for August archery. Shot a whitetail with the Inverter last month, and he ran about 20 yards before piling up. Granted both Inverter shots were better than my first two with the fixed blades, but I still felt the fixed blade blood trails and penetration were not impressive. A few photos attached, and will add some more when I get to my other computer. So for now I am a big fan of Inverters and Triverters, until something better comes along.

I have the following two items for sale: 20X60 Pentax PCF binoculars. They are in good condition. They have been used for several seasons, but the glass is fine. The only thing missing is the cap over the threaded mount, which you could order from Pentax. Good binoculars for zooming into the mid-day shadows or long range scoring. **Sold, pending funds** Mossberg 535 camo pump shotgun. Used for a few seasons hunting dove and quail. Will accept up to 3.5" shells, so would make a great turkey gun. **Sold Pending Funds** No trades please. Feel free to PM me with any questions. Prefer FTF in the Tucson area.

Binoculars sold pending funds. Shotgun still available. See price update.

You can't go wrong with a custom string from Bull Basin in Tucson. I had them make one up for my X-Force, and no joke, I did not have to reposition one of my 7 pins and the tuning was unchanged. 5 months later, absolutely no peep rotation. A+++ for Bull Basin in Tucson!!

ttt one last time with updated pricing. Hopefully now I am making this easy for someone.

Seriously??? If I had a nickel for every time someone on this site misspelled a word I would have a dump truck full. Eye theenc eyven iff al thu membirs on coosewheyetale.coom coodnyt spel, et wood stil bee a grate websyte. Lark? Is that you? When did you change your handle to John O? If this ain't Lark, you better stop stealing his style. He's a mean ol' cuss. I'll take that as a compliment. Actually I have never met or seen Lark. Offered him some javelina sausage several times, and he keeps turning me down. (I think if we keep talking about him he will emerge from his domicile and grace us with some of his profound insights) John O, For the record I was referring to the incredible spelling job you did in that post. Lark will either be proud of the imitation or angry with you. As far as the photo, I've seen pictures of Lark. No way Lark could be confused with either of those two handsome devils. I don't care who you are. That's funny right there!!!
