I don't use them on a tripod, so I am not sure. They are a little heavier than some others, but I think that speaks to their quality. I have a Zeiss Conquest 10x42 and to my eyes the Kowa has a sharper image. If anyone is considering these, check out reviews online. They are very highly thought of. At $750 it is a great buy.
